History
Millions of years ago, the three-headed monster Death Ghidorah came to Earth to destroy it utterly. At the time, the Earth was inhabited by a species of tiny, six-inch tall women known as the Elias, who were protected by a species of giant moth. These moths battled the attacking Death Ghidorah and eventually defeated him, sealing the three-headed beast within the planet itself, however, the battle took a large toll on the planet and many lives were lost. The vast majority of the Elias perished, but three sisters, Moll, Lora, and Belvera, survived Death Ghidorah’s attack. Moll and Lora were grateful to have survived, but Belvera was enraged by the mass extinction of their race. Along with these three Elias, one final guardian moth, dubbed Mothra, remained.

Fast forward to present day, the current Mothra has recently given birth to an egg on Infant Island, home of the Elias, and is physically weakened as her life is nearly over. Meanwhile, in the Northern Forest of Hokkaido, Japan, a logging company is stripping the forest to create more new developments. As they work, an accident uncovers a fossil of some sort and upon closer inspection, a small pendant, which is actually the seal that keeps Death Ghidorah imprisoned, is also discovered. Meanwhile, on Infant Island, Moll and Lora sense that the seal has been moved, but they aren't the only ones, Belvera also senses it and all three Elias head for Hokkaido to investigate, Moll and Lora riding atop Fairy Mothra and Belvera on Garu-Garu. The three Elias soon encounter one another and Moll and Lora battle Belvera for control of the seal. Belvera eventually triumphs over her sisters and releases Death Ghidorah back upon the world. Mothra is then summoned by Moll and Lora to engage the three-headed monster, which had begun absorbing the life out of the environment. Mothra and Death Ghidorah battle back and forth, with Mothra taking quite a beating due to her weakened state. Sensing his mother’s distress, the baby Mothra, dubbed Mothra Leo, hatches prematurely and heads for Japan to aid his mother. The newborn larva fights bravely to help his mother, but both are soon overwhelmed by Death Ghidorah and Mothra grabs her young Mothra Leo and flies him to safety. However, the two soon crash into the ocean due to Mothra’s weakened state. Trying to save his fallen mother, Mothra Leo attempts to aid Mothra, but she eventually sinks into the blue depths. Angered by his mother’s demise, the Mothra Leo larva spins a cocoon in order to transform into his adult stage and avenge his mother.

Mothra Leo soon emerges from his cocoon and takes to the sky, determined to destroy Death Ghidorah once and for all. The deity kaiju quickly arrives at the three-headed monster’s location and engages him, bombarding Death Ghidorah with energy beams. Overwhelmed by the power of this new Mothra, Death Ghidorah quickly succumbs to Mothra Leo’s assault and is once again locked away and resealed within the planet’s crust.
