History
In the year 1964, the three-headed monster King Ghidorah attacked Earth for the first time, arriving on the planet encased within a meteor that crashed in Japan. King Ghidorah soon emerged from the meteor and set out to complete its mission; destroy all live on Earth. Knowing the threat that King Ghidorah was to the planet, the Twin Fairies of Infant Island called Mothra to try and persuade the battling Godzilla and Rodan to fight King Ghidorah. The two monsters wouldn’t cooperate at first, but finally they came together along with Mothra to defeat the space monster, forcing King Ghidorah to retreat back into the blackness of space. A year later, aliens from the newly discovered Planet X tricked the Earth into trading Godzilla and Rodan to them so they could rid their world of King Ghidorah, in exchange for a miracle drug to cure all disease. The Xians took control of Godzilla and Rodan and sent them to destroy Earth along with King Ghidorah. However, scientists discovered a way to defeat the Xians by crippling them with a high-pitched sound while using A-Cycle Light Rays to free Godzilla, Rodan, and King Ghidorah from their control. After the Xians were destroyed, Godzilla and Rodan attacked King Ghidorah, the three battled until they all fell off of a cliff and into the ocean. Only King Ghidorah emerged, fleeing back into space. Years later, the Kilaaks, an alien race from the asteroid belt, tried conquer Earth by taking control of all the Earth’s monsters and forcing them to destroy the world’s major cities. However, their plan was eventually thwarted by an attack on their Moon Base by the crew of the Moonlight SY-3. Free of alien control, all the Earth monsters gathered at Mount Fuji to attack the Kilaaks, but the aliens weren’t through yet, however, and sent King Ghidorah to attack the monsters. King Ghidorah battled ferociously against Godzilla, Anguirus, Gorosaurus, Rodan, Mothra, Kumonga, and Minilla while Manda, Varan, and Baragon looked on. But in the end, the space monster was defeated and apparently killed by the combined strength of his enemies, his body disappearing into an underground cavern shortly after he was killed. Somehow, King Ghidorah returned a few years later along with the cyborg kaiju Gigan as minions of the cockroach aliens of the Nebula SpaceHunter M in order to take over the Earth. The aliens sent the two space monsters to attack Tokyo, but Godzilla and Anguirus soon arrived and a lengthy battle ensued. The battled moved back and forth until the alien cockroaches were finally killed and their “Godzilla Tower” destroyed. Their alien masters gone, King Ghidorah and Gigan were quickly dispatched by Godzilla and Anguirus, with both space monsters fleeing back into space.
