| After the battle with SpaceGodzilla, Little Godzilla matured into his semi-adult form, Godzilla Junior, when Godzilla's run-away radiation caused the radioactive deposits on Birth Island to detonate. Thought to have been killed when Birth Island was destroyed, Godzilla Junior was soon discovered swimming along the coast of Japan, heading back to his birthplace on Adona Island. However, he was detoured by psychics Meru and Miki Saegusa, who lead Godzilla Junior to Tokyo in an effort to lure Godzilla to Tokyo as well, hoping that Destroyah would kill him before Godzilla's body could meltdown. Instead, Godzilla Junior ended up fighting a brief but vicious battle with the crab Destroyah, finally defeating the crustacean monster. However, the victory was short lived for Destroyah soon returned in his final form and attacked, bringing Junior to the brink of death. But before he died, however, Godzilla defeated Destroyah and went into his meltdown, saturating Tokyo with radiation. Godzilla Junior, however, absorbed the fallout, reviving himself and maturing into a new Godzilla. | |
