| In the year 1993, after Godzilla was defeated by Mothra and Battra, the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center or UNGCC is established to battle Godzilla and any other kaiju who threatens humanity. They first create the flying battleship Garuda, but it is rendered inoperable and the UNGCC then retrieves the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah in order to analyze 23rd Century technology so they could create their ultimate super-weapon, MechaGodzilla. However, Kazuma Aoki, a UNGCC technician, still believes Garuda can be used, but unfortunately is transferred to the crew of MechaGodzilla, away from his beloved machine. Meanwhile, on Adona Island, Professor Omae and his team discovers two fossilized eggs, one hatched, and one that seems to still be alive, but when the team tries to move the egg, they discover that it is guarded by a giant, mutated pteranodon called Rodan. As the science team escapes with the egg, Godzilla arrives on the island and battles Rodan, seemingly killing the mutated pteranodon and then leaving the island. Back in Japan, a young scientist named Azusa is assigned to monitor the egg and soon learns that the egg reacts to her presence. Soon, Aoki visits the lab and steals a sample of prehistoric plants found with the egg and brings them to Miki Saegusa, who studies them with a group of psychic children. They learn that the plant gives off a type of psychic music, which she makes a tape of and plays for the scientists. Reacting to the song, the egg immediately hatches, revealing a baby Godzillasaurus dubbed BabyGodzilla, but the music also revives Rodan, who transforms into a much larger and more powerful Fire Rodan, capable of spewing out a uranium heat beam, and heads straight for Japan. At the same time, Godzilla also returns and heads for Kyoto, knowing that BabyGodzilla is there. However, before he can get there, MechaGodzilla is sent to attack him, but Godzilla defeats the robot as well as the military on his way to Kyoto, but when Godzilla cannot locate the young Godzilla, he returns to his ocean home. Meanwhile, Aoki talks to the head of the MechaGodzilla project and convinced him that Garuda can be used and MechaGodzilla’s power boosted if combined into one powerful machine called Super MechaGodzilla and the scientist agrees. A plan to lure Godzilla with BabyGodzilla is then hatched by G-Force, which also includes Miki Saegusa, who reluctantly agrees, but as BabyGodzilla is moved into place, Fire Rodan arrives and rescues his “brother,” but MechaGodzilla and Garuda soon arrive as well. Fire Rodan manages to take down Garuda, but is no match for MechaGodzilla and after a vicious battle, Fire Rodan is taken down for the count. Godzilla soon appears as well and the plan to kill him is carried out with Super MechaGodzilla’s “G-Crusher” locating the Monster King’s spinal brain and destroying it, paralyzing him from the waist down and Godzilla collapses, but Fire Rodan revives with the help of BabyGodzilla and comes to the rescue. However, Fire Rodan ends up sacrificing his own life for Godzilla’s, his body falling on top of Godzilla’s and transfers his life-energy into Godzilla, reviving the King of the Monsters and giving him a new weapon, a spiral energy blast I’ve dubbed the “super-charged” radioactive heat ray. Godzilla then easily destroys Super MechaGodzilla and then retreats back into the ocean with BabyGodzilla. | |
