| Yet another year later, Rainbow Mothra was called upon by the Elias to put a stop to Grand King Ghidorah’s attack on humanity. However, even Rainbow Mothra was unable to defeat the space kaiju and with the help of the Elias, traveled back in time to the late Cretaceous period to fight the adolescent version of Grand King Ghidorah, Cretaceous King Ghidorah. Rainbow Mothra managed to defeat the space kaiju after a vicious battle by tossing the evil monster into the then active volcano, Mount Fuji. However, the battle had also taken its toll on Rainbow Mothra and he fell to the ground as three Prehistoric Mothra larvas emerged and cocooned the dying Mothra in a healing capsule that revitalized him and kept him safe until the year 1998. However, unknown to Rainbow Mothra, during the battle with Cretaceous King Ghidorah, one of the monster’s tails was severed and burrowed underground, later regenerating and maturing into Grand King Ghidorah anyway! The space kaiju emerged just one day later then he originally had and once again started his attack, but the cocoon containing Rainbow Mothra suddenly broke from the ground and hatched to reveal a new form of Mothra, Armor Mothra. Armor Mothra was more than a match for Grand King Ghidorah and was easily able to defeat the space kaiju and free the humans he had captured. Armor Mothra’s armor was then removed and the final form of Mothra Leo was revealed, Eternal Mothra. | |
