History
Just like Baragon and King Ghidorah, Mothra ravaged ancient Japan, but too was eventually slain and her spirit/body locked away by the Japanese within Lake Ikeda. However, while her body and spirit rested, the Japanese actually turned Mothra into a deity, worshipping and appealing to her until she became a guardian and protector of the Japanese skies. However, when the Godzilla returned to terrorize Japan in 2002, Mothra was released from her tomb and attacked Godzilla alongside King Ghidorah as the Monster King rampaged through Tokyo. Mothra was eventually destroyed by Godzilla, but once she was dead, the sky god transferred her life-force into the wounded King Ghidorah, giving him more strength so he could continue to battle Godzilla.
