| Oodako, otherwise known commonly as simply the Giant Octopus, has appeared on only a few different occasions, never actually confronting Godzilla himself though. Oodako first appeared on Faro Island, trying to get to the native’s berry juice, which induces an intoxicating effect on wildlife. Oodako nearly succeeded, even after an attempt to drive him off by the islanders, but was then attacked by King Kong, furious that another giant monster would dare invade his territory. Kong quickly defeated the giant octopus and sent it retreated back into the ocean depths. Oodako then disappeared for a few years, but was finally located by a Japanese ship, which was caught up in a storm. The giant octopus looked to make a meal out of the ship’s crew, but another monster wanted what Oodako sought, that monster being Gaila, the Green Gargantua. Oodako and Gaila battled, with Gaila eventually forcing the giant octopus to retreat again and proceeded to devour the crew himself. Oodako, his meal now gone, then swam back into the depths of the ocean never to be seen again. | |
