| A space probe returning from Venus is damaged by a meteor and crashes into the ocean off Sicily. A Venusian specimen the probe brought back, a tiny dinosaur-like creature, survives the impact, but Earth’s atmosphere causes it to grow at an accelerated rate and it quickly becomes as big as an elephant. The Ymir is attacked and knocked unconscious by military personnel and helicopters and then brought to the Rome Zoo, where it awakens and battles an elephant. Then, after being attacked by tank fire and flame-throwers, Ymir climbs up the Rome Coliseum and begins to toss down debris at the soldiers below. However, when shot with a bazooka, Ymir seems to be fatally wounded and falls to his death. | |
