Dr. Hughes and Dr. Campbell are scientists who have been looking for the legendary monster called Yonggary. During the research, Dr. Hughes finds out that there is a prophecy about Yonggary and it says that if Yonggary is awakened, the monster will destroy the world, but Dr. Campbell insists that he must find Yonggary and wake him up to gain fame and fortune. He then kicks Dr. Hughes out of the project and finds Yonggary`s skeleton alone, however, the prophecy was true! By the time Dr. Campbell begins to dig up the skeleton, an alien spaceship approaches the Earth and destroys all space shuttles and military satellites to disconnect communications before they begin to resurrect Yonggary remotely from their spaceship. Suddenly, Yonggary's body begins to reform, confusing Dr. Campbell and the workers, however, Dr. Campbell forces the terrified workers to continue digging anyway, which repels his assistant, Holly, away. Dr. Hughes finds Holly in a motel and asks her to go back to the site to stop the digging, but it is too late... Yonggary has been resurrected! The monster, who is being manipulated by the aliens, begins attacking the workers who flee in terror. Helicopters are sent to stop the monster, but Yonggary is too powerful for them, plus Yonggary can be teleported by the aliens to get to the attack point directly, giving him a huge advantage.
Dr. Hughes and Holly then begin to examine the prophecy to get some solutions and they find out that if they could break the diamond in the monster’s forehead, the alien's control over him will be broken. Then, with an incredible attempt by the T-Project squad, the diamond is shattered and Yonggary becomes a friendly monster, even saving the lives of many humans from a falling skyscraper. However, the aliens then choose to use their ultimate solution and send a hideous monster named Cyker to destroy Yonggary. Yonggary and Cyker get into a fierce and crazy battle which ends when Yonggary finally blows Cyker away and the aliens retreat before Yonggary discovers his true power. After the battle, Yonggary is transported to an uninhabited island to live on.
