Final Wars 2: Return of the Xilians
By: Bailey Becker

Prologue:
The year is 2014. Using his Kaiser Powers, Ozaki and the survivors of the Xilian invasion of Earth have been able to put human society back together. Despite the fact that Godzilla and Minilla are the only living monsters on Earth, the EDF are ever on the alert, always ready for alien invasion...

"Commander?" it was Colonel Gordon. "What?" said the commander. "Our monitoring department has detected a large object entering our atmosphere." "A meteor?" asked the commander. "No ma'am." Said Gordon. "It would probably have burned up by now if it were a meteor." "Why?" asked the commander. "Because it's five miles above the ground! It was seen entering our atmosphere by our satellites. Then it disappeared for a few minutes, and later, it reappeared in Tokyo!" The commander was distraught. "What is it?" she asked. "We don't know." answered Gordon. "We would like permission to fire on it." "By all means, fire!" shouted the commander. " We have no time to lose!"

Outside, tanks, maser cannons, fighter jets, special EDF ships, and many soldiers and mutants with guns pounded the object with firepower. Suddenly, sinister laughter rang out from sky. "Remove the cloak!" Roared a voice. A huge ship appeared in the sky. It was exactly like the Xilian ship which had attacked Earth ten years before. The soldiers stopped firing, shocked by the sudden appearance of this alien spacecraft. An image appeared in the sky in front of the ship. It was the face of the Xilian leader who had led the attack. "It can't be him!" Cried Ozaki, the commander of the soldiers shooting at the ship. "I killed him myself. I saw his ship explode!" The Xilian leader spoke in his sneering voice. "When you saw the explosion of my ship ten years ago, you probably thought you'd seen the last of us. Well, you were obviously wrong. That explosion was merely a cover-up for teleporting back to our planet. Now, we will conquer Earth!" The hatches at the top of the ship opened up and Xilian fighters flew out. But the EDF was ready and blew up most of the fighters that flew out, and as more came, the EDF destroyed them. Inside the ship, the Xilian leader began to glow. An energy blast came out of the mother ship, destroying several tanks, masers, and planes. The humans and Xilians fought for several minutes before a roar was heard. "Skreeeonkkk!" It was Godzilla! He had come to destroy the city and feed on nuclear energy, but he saw the ship, and he remembered it, and hated it. He fired his atomic ray. It found its mark, destroying several dozen fighters and pushing the ship back. Still broadcasting his image in the air, the Xilian leader said "Oh no, you haven't won yet. I'd anticipated that we would have to deal with your Godzilla sooner or later, so we assembled a new army. The image disappeared, and immediately, nine beams of light came from the Xilian ship and struck the ground. The beams disappeared, and in their place stood nine giant monsters. The image of the Xilian leader reappeared. "This is our new monster army!" his voice rang out. "We have found these creatures on your Earth or out in space. Now, allow me to introduce Destroyah, Space-Godzilla, Orga, Megaguiris, Biollante, Sanda, Varan, Gorosaurus, and Titanosaurus! Now, our monsters will attack together, and destroy Godzilla!"

The nine monsters charged at Godzilla, with Destroyah in the lead. Reaching Godzilla, Destroyah attempted to stab the King of the Monsters with his horn. Godzilla grabbed the horn and bent Destroyahs' head back in an attempt to break his neck. Destroyahs' horn glowed for a second, and then a blade of energy extended from it, cutting Godzilla's hands and slashing his shoulder. Godzilla grunted in pain and released Destroyahs' horn. He reeled backward, apparently dazed by the attack. Destroyah roared his screeching roar and advanced until he and Godzilla were face to face. Godzilla suddenly grabbed Destroyah by the shoulders and fired his spiral ray into Destroyahs' mouth. Atomic fire raced down Destroyahs' throat and exploded. Green blood splattered from Destroyahs' neck and he fell to the ground, seemingly in his death throes. Godzilla roared in his apparent victory, but even as he was roaring, a micro oxygen cloud engulfed Destroyahs' body. The cloud vanished, and in its place were hundreds of Destroyah crustaceans. Godzilla fired his atomic ray at them, killing several of the crab-like creatures. While he was preoccupied with the crustaceans, he didn't notice Orga lumbering up behind him, until he felt a huge fist slam into the back of his head. Godzilla fell on his face, dazed. He righted himself, only to feel Gorosaurus' feet slamming into his side. He fell sideways, only to be clotheslined by Sanda. He fell forward and received a head-butt from Titanosaurus. He began to fall backward but was stopped again, this time by Biollante. She held him up with her vines and spat out her acid sap. Godzilla screamed in pain as the sap burned into the flesh on his back. Space-Godzilla pounded his Godzilla's chest with sharp crystal projectiles. Godzilla utilized his nuclear pulse and severed the vines that were holding him. Biollante dropped him and Space-Godzilla stopped firing his crystals at him. Instead, he used his Gravity Tornado on the monster king, lifting him into the air. The Tornado propelled Godzilla across Tokyo and past the city limits.

From inside his ship, the Xilian leader implanted a command in the monsters' minds. Fools, go after him! Finish Him!
Near the outskirts of the city, Godzilla had just finished regenerating his wounds when he turned toward the city and saw Varan flying toward him. His fins lit up, and he fired his atomic ray. The ray hit Varan squarely between the eyes. Varan tumbled out of the sky, but managed to reposition himself so that he slammed into Godzilla, spine-covered back first. Godzilla screamed in pain as the spines dug into his flesh. He grabbed the spindly creature by the tail and slammed him to the ground repeatedly. Megaguiris zoomed out of nowhere and slashed Godzilla on the arm. Orga grabbed Godzilla from behind and held his arms behind his back. Biollante extended her tentacles and drilled them into Godzilla's side. Space-Godzilla and Destroyah arrived, morphed out of their flying forms, and began blasting the huge reptile with their rays. Megaguiris joined in with his plasma balls, and Sanda, Varan, Gorosaurus, and Titanosaurus soon followed by throwing huge boulders at the King of the Monsters. In the midst of this came the Gotengo.

Inside the Gotengo, the atmosphere was one of panic. "This is terrible!" screamed one of the crewmembers. "There gonna kill him!" cried another. "That's enough!" barked Captain Gordon. "We won't be able to do him or the Earth any good by getting hysterical. Prepare to fire masers!" "No!"Â snapped Ozaki. "That won't do any good either. Even if the maser destroys one of the monsters, the others will see us and shoot us down. The only way we can help him is if you let me concentrate my Kaiser powers on the monsters." He then closed his eyes and began to glow.

Outside, the monsters stopped attacking Godzilla. When Orga and Biollante released him, Godzilla fell to the ground, exhausted. He got to his knees and looked around. He saw that the monsters which had been attacking him, killing him, were now facing the city, where he could see the Xilian mother ship in the distance.

Inside the Xilian ship, the leader was freaking out. "Blast it, they won't gain control of our monsters that easily!" He closed his eyes and began to glow like Ozaki.
Back outside, the nine monsters resumed their attack on Godzilla. Ozaki then put more energy into the giants from inside the Gotengo, and the Xilian leader exerted more mental pressure on the monsters. It went like this for several minutes until, finally, Sanda roared and slammed into Orga, knocking him away from Godzilla. Godzilla stood there, perplexed at how this monster that had been trying to destroy him a minute earlier was now fighting for him. Titanosaurus followed suit by lumbering over and tearing off Biollantes' vines that had been holding Godzilla. Gorosaurus put in a helping hand by kangaroo-kicking Destroyah in the midsection, and Varan soared into the sky and gouged the dragonfly-like Megaguiris with his spines. Godzilla was confused. These monsters were his allies now, but why? Maybe it was caused by the same power that had saved him from Kaiser Ghidorah ten years ago. He looked at Space-Godzilla, the only monster without an opponent, and advanced.

As he and Space-Godzilla exchanged blows, Godzilla surveyed the battle. At first, it had seemed to be going very well. With the element of surprise on their side, Godzilla and his allies began with the winning edge over the evil monsters. Unfortunately, their enemies had recovered quickly, and were gaining the upper hand. Titanosaurus was losing the worst. Biollante had proved to be a very poor choice of opponent for the amphibious dinosaur. She had kept him at bay with her acidic sap. He retaliated by using his fan tail to blow huge boulders at her, but they had done very little damage. He tried to get in close, but Biollante merely picked him up in her jaws and let her acidic sap wash over him. She spat him out, and was pounding him with her vines. Gorosaurus was also getting demolished. His claws and teeth did no damage to Destroyahs' armored shell, and every time he tried to floor his crustacean adversary with a kangaroo kick, he received a blast of microoxygen to the face or chest. He was now lying on the ground, nearly unconscious, while Destroyah dragged him around with the pincer on his tail. Sanda and Varan had faired a little better with their opponents. Sanda had proved adept in his fistfight with Orga, but hadn't counted on facing the ogrish aliens' plasma ray. After giving Sanda a close-range, full force blast to the chest, Orga followed up with a punch to the jaw from his huge hand. Sanda was groggy as he attempted to stand and fight, and, consequently, Orga was winning. Varan had nearly vanquished Megaguiris with his repeated stabbing, but Megaguiris had summoned a last vestige of maneuverability, twisted in midair, and embedded his stinger in Varans' thigh. Megaguiris began to drain Varans' strength, but Varan slashed at Megaguiris' chest with his claws and broke free. The effects of the siphon showed, however, and Varan was slower than before. This enabled Megaguiris to pelt the reptile with fireballs, and Varan was soon spiraling to the ground.

Godzilla knew that something had to be done, or they would die. He suddenly spotted a huge mountain, and he had an idea! He put his face right next to Space-Godzilla's' and fired his ray, stunning the blue monster. He went as quickly as he could to the mountain and lumbered up. When he reached the top, he saw that it was filled with fire. This was what he'd been hoping for! His fins began to glow red, and the spiral beam poured out of his maw. It struck the magma, and the effect was almost immediate. The mountain began to shake violently, throwing Godzilla off his feet and down the mountains' slopes to the bottom, where he righted himself and lumbered out of the way of the lava flow oozing out of the volcanos' mouth. The evil monsters, seeing the lava, scrambled to escape, unaware that the eruption had caused a giant fissure to open in the earth, and the fissure was right in their path. The monsters tumbled in. Megaguiris didn't fall, being a flyer, but he was clotheslined by Varan and fell in the chasm.

Inside the Gotengo, something changed in Ozakis' mind. "He's not controlling the monsters anymore!" exclaimed Ozaki. "That's great." replied Gordon sarcastically. "But in case ya haven't noticed, those things are tumblin' down to a fiery future." "I don't think so." said Ozaki. "I intend to control them." "Fine." Said Gordon. "But you're gonna have to get 'em out of that crevice for them to do any good." "I aim to do just that." responded Ozaki.

In the fissure, an energy screen appeared halfway into the blackness. When the falling monsters struck it, they were hurled out of the crevice and onto land. They felt a new presence in their minds, one that told them to go over and join the ranks of the monsters whom they had been fighting. They obeyed and walked toward their erstwhile enemies. Godzilla was surprised to see these monsters, first that they had emerged from the chasm, then that they were coming to join him. He could sense that they were no longer his enemies.

Inside the Xilian ship, the leader was having another conniption. "Blast it, I thought they were doomed when they fell in that fissure. Well, they haven't won yet. We still have army M to fall back on."

Outside, ten meteors careened towards earth. About 3,000 feet in the sky, the meteors exploded, and ten new creatures landed on the ground in front of the group of monsters led by Godzilla. One was exactly like Monster X. The others looked like a bipedal lion, a dragon, and bipedal scorpion, a gorilla, a giant wasp, a velociraptor, a bipedal rhinoceros, a two-legged crocodile, and a bear. They all had the same white, armor over their bodies that Monster X had.

The monsters began to fight. Godzilla slammed his body into Monster X and knocked him off his feet. He began to shoot his ray at his floored enemy. All around him, monsters were doing battle. Space-Godzilla telekinetically hurled crystalline spears at Dragon X. Destroyah flew at Scorpion X. Sanda wrestled with Gorilla X. Orga and Titanosaurus exchanged blows with Grizzly X and Crocodile X. Megaguiris was having and aerial dogfight with Hornet X. Biollante attempted to wrap her vines around Lion X, and Varan was scoring hit after hit on Rhino X. It was these last two that were really beating their opponents. Biollante missed Lion X with her vines, so she released her acidic sap. He fired gravity beams from his eyes, hitting the sap and splattering it everywhere. He shot more gravity beams and hit Biollante in the face, blinding her for several seconds. Those seconds were all he needed to jump on Biollante and start tearing at her, but before he could reach her energy sack, she regained her sight and blasted him with acidic sap. He was hurled back, and released his gravity beams, but Biollante burned his skin with her sap. Varan was winning because of his superior speed. Rhino X was far stronger than Varan, but he was not nearly as fast. Varan, though not able to do a great deal of damage in one strike, was able to wear Rhino X down with hit and-run attacks until the alien was stumbling around, groggy and confused. It seemed that the earth monsters were winning. Destroyah had cut off Scorpion X's stinger and was now swarming over him as hundreds of small crustaceans. Space-Godzilla was giving Dragon X a steady barrage of crystal missiles and corona blasts. Orga and Megaguiris had Grizzly X and Hornet X in unbreakable holds. Titanosaurus had dazed Crocodile X with repeated blows to the jaw. Godzilla and Gorosaurus, on the other hand, had a little more trouble subduing their opponents. Every time Gorosaurus had attempted to kangaroo-kick Raptor X, the dinosaur-like alien slashed him with his big claw. Gorosaurus had finally stunned him by rearing back as if preparing to do a kick, than stopping and hit him several times over the head. As for Godzilla, he had received quite a fight from Monster X. The alien titan had quickly righted himself after being knocked down by Godzilla, and delivered a blinding flurry of punches faster than the huge dinosaur could react. He sank his teeth into Godzilla's shoulder and wrapped his tail around Godzilla's neck, preventing him from using his atomic ray. Monster X began pounding his enemy's body with amazing speed, but suddenly, Godzilla lashed out and struck him on the side of the head. Monster X released his grip and the two fought at close range again. Monster X blasted Godzilla with gravity beams from his eyes, but the King of the Monsters used his nuclear pulse to deflect it and hit Monster X with atomic power. The enemy dropped to his knees and fought to stay conscious as Godzilla rained blows on him.

The Xilian leader was snickering as he watched this from his ship. "They think they've won, do they? I'll just have to show them how wrong they are, and take care of this myself." He teleported out of the ship and onto the battlefield. "Here me, monsters!" he roared. The earth monsters turned from the fight and faced him. They were perplexed at how such a small being could make them turn so quickly. "You may be beating my monsters, but you have not faced me, your greatest enemy. Now, behold my terrible might and be destroyed!" Immediately, his human disguise melted away, revealing the Xilian form beneath. A dome of golden energy enveloped him and grew until it was 120 meters tall. The energy disappeared, and in its place stood a huge, gargoyle-like monster. It had black skin with bone-white armor over his head, torso, forearms, and the lower part of his legs, as well as vertical "strips" of armor running up his legs and the upper part of his arms. "I… am… Kaiser X!" he bellowed.

Kaiser X released a golden beam from his forehead that struck Titanosaurus, Sanda, and Orga and knocked all three senseless. He shot two columns of white-hot fire from his hand, hitting Space-Godzilla and Destroyah and burning them badly. He then blasted them with his forehead beam and floored them. Godzilla roared in anger and shot his spiral beam at the white monster. Kaiser X met it with his head beam. The two rays collided, and Godzilla's was the stronger. The spiral beam forced Kaiser X's ray back until it was a few dozen yards from his head, when suddenly, an area between the base of Kaiser X's neck and his heart started to glow. Gravity beams shot out from his eyes and hit Godzilla in the face. Godzilla stopped shooting his ray, and immediately, Kaiser X's forehead ray struck Godzilla's head as well. Kaiser X released fire from his hands and energy balls from his forearms, both of which hit Godzilla in the chest. The combination of attacks propelled the reptile into nearby mountain with such force that the collision shattered part of the mountainside and created a huge hole. Boulders fell down over the hole and sealed Godzilla inside. The rest of the monsters charged at Kaiser X. He swatted Gorosaurus and Sanda aside like they were flies. Destroyah came at him but Kaiser X put the crustacean in a headlock and rammed him into an advancing Space-Godzilla, cutting his chest. Orga grabbed him from behind, only to have Kaiser X whirl around and knee Orga in the chin. Orga slumped down, dazed. Kaiser X felt a searing pain on his feet and knees. He looked down and saw many Destroyah crabs swarming over his legs. He blasted them away with gravity beams from his eyes, flapped his wings, and took to the sky. Destroyah morphed into his flying form and took off in pursuit. Kaiser X stopped suddenly, and Destroyah zoomed up past him before he could stop himself. As Destroyah attempted to slow enough to turn around, Kaiser X blasted him out of the sky with a cascade of fire. He heard a buzzing sound and a screech behind him and turned to see Varan and Megaguiris coming toward him. He flew above them and kicked Varan in the head, an attack which sent him on a straight course to the ground. Megaguiris blasted him with plasma balls, which seemed to rattle the gargoyle. Megaguiris tried to follow up by draining his energy with his stinger, but Kaiser X gave him an uppercut just as Megaguiris got close, then grabbed his wing and hurled him downward, blasting him with orbs of energy as he fell. While all this was happening, the area beneath the base of Kaiser X's neck continued to glow.

The alien landed back on the ground and was immediately hit with boulders blown at him by Titanosaurus. Kaiser X laughed (well, he roared in a way that sounded like laughing) and blasted the aquatic reptile with gravity beams from his eyes. Biollante wrapped her vines around him, but he struck her with white-hot fire and set the plant ablaze. Amidst screams of agony, she slammed herself against a mountain (not the one that Godzilla is trapped in) and smothered the flames, although the inferno left her badly burned. Kaiser X turned to his army of monsters, who were just now getting up from their defeat, and put an order in their minds. Now that I have softened them up for you, destroy this insipid band of weaklings!

As the two groups of monsters tore into each other, pandemonium was overtaking the crew of the Gotengo once again. "We're losing again, just like before!" screamed several crewmembers. It was true. Under Kaiser X's leadership, the evil monsters had gotten their second wind and were trouncing the defenders. "Got any ideas as to why there winning, Ozaki?" said Gordon roughly. "Well," said Ozaki, " Using my Kaiser abilities, I've discovered that the glowing area on Kaiser X's chest houses an organ used to absorb energy from the environment around him. When he or any of the other monsters expends any power, it lingers in the air and then is absorbed by Kaiser X through that organ. Unfortunately, I don't see that there is anything we can do. I could give the monsters doses of energy like I gave Godzilla, but he would just absorb it. Our only chance is to destroy that organ, but I doubt that any of our weapons can even make a dent in his armor. In short, we're screwed."

At that moment, outside, an atomic ray exploded from the mountain and Godzilla broke loose. The good monsters, knowing that he was their only hope of winning, formed a barrier in front of him so Kaiser X and his forces wouldn't see Godzilla coming. They attacked the gargoyle with more force than before, never knowing that their efforts only made their enemy more powerful. They did keep him busy, though, and Godzilla decided to circle around and attack from the side, where Kaiser X wouldn't be prepared for the assault. The unearthly entity wasn't prepared for the clawed hands suddenly gripping his body as Godzilla used his nuclear pulse to shatter some of the armor on his chest. Godzilla hit the glowing area with his spiral beam, and white blood splattered all over them both. Kaiser X fell down and lay still. Monster X attacked from behind, but Godzilla's fins glowed with energy, dislodging Monster X. Godzilla struck him several times and Monster X bit and clawed back. Godzilla gained the upper hand, however, flipped Monster X over his shoulder, and blasted him with nuclear fire in midair. The ray propelled Monster X forward until he was halfway across the huge chasm, and the flow of energy stopped. Monster X plummeted in. With their leaders defeated, the Xilian monsters lost the edge. Space-Godzilla tore a hole in Dragon X's wing with the crystals on his tail and drove him to the edge of the fissure with his corona beam, where he made a huge crystal come out of the ground under Dragon X's feet and sent him over the edge. Destroyah used the claw on his tail to pull Scorpion X behind him as flow over the pit, and dropped his helpless foe in. Orga knocked Grizzly X off-balance with his huge fists, then blasted him off the side. Megaguiris, having cut off Hornet X's wing, hurled him down the gulf. Sanda gave Gorilla X an uppercut that knocked him off the side. Titanosaurus used the hurricane-force winds from his tail to force Crocodile X closer and closer to the hole, then head-butted him in. Gorosaurus kangaroo-kick Raptor X into a nosedive down the fissure, Biollante threw the nearly dead Lion X in, and Varan finished the last of the monsters by bodyslamming the unwieldy Rhino X off the side. Godzilla and Space-Godzilla turned towards Tokyo, and Space-Godzilla unleashed his Gravity Tornado on the distant Xilian mother ship. The Gravity Tornado struck the spaceship, closing the hatches that released the fighters and pulling it to the battlefield until it was directly over the huge crack in the earth's surface. Red fire danced across Godzilla's fins as he emitted his spiral beam. The beam tore through the ship, cutting it in half. Both halves plummeted down the chasm as Xilian soldiers fell out, screaming.

When the last traces of their enemies disappeared, earth's monsters roared in the apparent victory. The celebration was short lived, however, as four gravity beams came from behind and knocked Orga and Sanda into the crevice. Space-Godzilla levitated them out, but he too was taken off his feet by the beams. Godzilla turned around to see Kaiser X, still standing, still alive, and still powerful, even without his energy-absorbing organ. Kaiser X was seething with rage at the failure of his invasion, and he was hungering for revenge on the ones who had thwarted him. He would start by killing Godzilla, the most powerful of them all. He threw every long-range attack he had at Godzilla, but the dinosaur deflected them with his atomic pulse. Kaiser X fired again, this time hitting Godzilla in the shoulders, chest, and midsection. The two monsters roared and crashed into each other, trading blows with an unparalleled ferocity. They parted and began blasting each other with their rays. They went back to close range again, slashing and biting each other. Godzilla brought his fist down on Kaiser X's head and triggered his nuclear pulse on contact, knocking Kaiser X unconscious. As he fell forward, Godzilla caught him by the arm. He whirled around, threw his enemy across the crevice where he hit the opposite edge, toppled in, and disappeared from site. The ground began to shake again as another lava flow spewed from the volcano. Space-Godzilla hit it with his Gravity Tornado and made it wash over the chasm. He made more crystals sprout up, drained the lava's energy through them, and formed and unbreakable shell of rock over the top of the pit, preventing the monsters at the bottom from escaping… if any of them were still alive.
