Author: Marc Cerasini
Pages: ???
Year: Never Released
Publisher: Random House

Synopsis: Interrupting Godzilla’s hibernation under the vast Pacific, a land mass the size of Texas rises from the depths of the ocean, forming a new continent on the Earth. As the world powers rush to claim this undiscovered country, they find vast ruins from a strange undersea civilization and eventually uncover a small group of survivors from this nearly extinct society.
The nations of the world greedily fight over the new continent and its valuable resources. But as armies roll across the lost continent to wage a war of ownership, they discover that deadly perils also live here. The monsters Manda, Varan, and Battra have made this continent their home. Finally, a totally new monster emerges, defeating all of man’s weapons. Now only Godzilla can save humanity and the mysterious inhabitants of this lost continent from certain doom.

Review: This book could also be called Godzilla and the Lost Publisher, seeing that it was slated for release in November of 1998, but before that date came, Random House’s Godzilla license ran out and they never renewed it. The book was again planned for release in July of 2000, with Random House even announcing its release, but again it never came out, Random House deciding for some odd reason not to release it, disappointing fans everywhere, including me! So the ending to this epic series of books that started with Godzilla Returns looks like it will never see the light of day. Hopefully someday Mr. Cerasini will find someone to publish this book so we fans can see the end to Godzilla’s five book long adventure.
