Godzilla vs. King Kong
(Return of Destoroyah)

By: Chippewagfan2@aol.com

King Kong. The only monster to actually beat Godzilla without being attacked again and being defeated. The massive gorilla nearly killed his reptilian enemy in 1963. Since then, he defeated another dinosaur, Gorosaurus. Over the years, Kong started to become more ruthless everyday, destroying villages on Skull and Mondo Island. The natives that lived to please him now lived every waking minute of their lives in fear and despair. Now, the villagers will be saved from King Kong. But how many lives will be lost in the process? You’ll have to find out.
King Kong stomped through the village, heading to Gahano village on Skull Island. He let out a bone-chilling roar, making his presence known to the inhabitants. The people in Gahano began to panic. Before long, Kong had reached the village wall. “Emperor. Our walls will not be able to hold him back long enough for us to get to the underground chambers!” a villager named Dario reported. “We have to get everyone that we can underground.” Emperor Kubo replied. The villagers were herded into large huts by the village guards and taken underground. Kong ripped through the wall like paper. He beat his chest and bellowed. He began his rampant attack. Huts were crushed under his huge feet. He picked up a villager by the arm. He threw her high into the air. She screamed in horror. The massive primate swallowed her whole. He roared in satisfaction. He kicked a large boulder at a group of villagers. They all were crushed. Then, he saw the underground huts. He began to charge. Then he began to dig. He saw the cowering villagers and grabbed them. He ate all of them in a single chomp of his massive jaws. He roared and destroyed the rest of the village with the lightning bolts that he launched from his fingers. He snarled and stomped back into the lush forest. “Emperor! Are you all right, sir?” Dario asked. “Yes, Dario. But we have nowhere to live now. I’m afraid… that we’ll have to leave Skull Island, forever!” he replied. The remaining villagers all gasped.

Meanwhile, on Monster Island, Gorosaurus lay on the ground, asleep. He had been sleeping a lot lately. He was dreaming about the time he fought King Kong on Skull Island. He remembered the massive pain he had been in. Then he remembered how his mammalian adversary snapped his neck in half and how if it hadn’t been for Godzilla’s extraordinary timing, that he would’ve never completely healed. Then he remembered how that he used to be a ruthless killer until after Godzilla rescued him, he and Rodan taught him how to be a protector of the planet Earth. And he remembered the humiliation of being defeated by an overgrown monkey. This was one of the many things that he and Godzilla had in common. Then he opened his eyes. He was startled to see his friend Anguirus looking at him. He stood up and noticed something approaching the island. Godzilla walked over to him and looked at the objects. When they got closer, they noticed that the objects were small boats. It was the villagers from Skull Island. They landed on the island. Godzilla, Gorosaurus, and Anguirus walked over to them. They whimpered something to them. One of the translators told the emperor what they said. “The monsters said that we are welcome to stay here.” The translator said. “Tell them that we are very grateful.” The emperor said. They got off the boats and the translator told the three of them what happened back on Skull Island. Godzilla and Gorosaurus were immediately infuriated, while Anguirus wondered what the villager meant. Godzilla looked at Anguirus and told him to watch over the island and help Rodan and Baragon to protect the villagers at all times. He and Gorosaurus then walked into the ocean towards Skull Island. The translator told Anguirus what the two monsters were going to do. Anguirus nearly leaped into the water after them. But Godzilla turned around and told him that this coming battle was between him, Gorosaurus, and King Kong. And with that, Anguirus escorted the villagers into the lush forest.
A few hours after they left, Godzilla and Gorosaurus arrived on the strange Skull Island. They both looked around in awe. This island was bigger than Monster Island, and Monster Island was pretty big. Then they heard a loud roar in the distance. Then they heard screams. They looked at each other and walked into the deep forest.

In the village of Kanohan, King Kong destroyed everything in sight. The villagers ran in panic. Kong crushed them with his feet and electrocuted other villagers with his finger lightning. He pounded his chest and roared. Then, trees around the village came crashing to the ground. Kong looked around in confusion as Godzilla and Gorosaurus emerged from the forest and snarled at the enemy. King Kong snarled back and charged at Gorosaurus. Godzilla knocked him to the ground. Kong roared and smashed his fist onto Gorosaurus’s foot. The massive dinosaur bellowed in pain while King Kong rose to the ground. He kicked Gorosaurus in the knee. Godzilla leaped at the oversized ape and tackled him. Kong howled and blasted Godzilla in the face with his finger lightning. Godzilla roared and covered his eyes, temporarily blinded. Gorosaurus stood up and head-butted Kong in the back.
The JSDF approached Skull Island. “Now remember, try to stop Kong.” Miki said to the lead pilot on the radio. “Yes, ma’am. Alright boys, we’re approaching the island. Prepare to attack.” Captain Hando said to the other pilots. “Do you think they will be able to help, Miki?” General Kasan asked. “I don’t know. I hope they will.” She answered. They, along with the rest of the JSDF, watched as the fighters approached the island.
Kong had injured Gorosaurus and attacked Godzilla. He head-locked the mighty reptile and started to twist his head. Godzilla roared in agony. Gorosaurus would’ve helped, but Kong had injured his leg too badly. Godzilla suddenly felt his enemy’s grip loosen. King Kong was blasted in the shoulder with missiles. He let go, freeing Godzilla and allowing him to help Gorosaurus. The fighters attacked Kong, blasting him endlessly. Kong felt furious and unleashed his finger lightning. His aim was horrible, and the planes evaded. Godzilla, realizing the distraction, ran to Gorosaurus. He helped the other dinosaur up and they continued their attack. Kong was only distracted for a little while, and realized it was a diversion to help Godzilla help Gorosaurus. Kong went berserk and smashed some of the planes with his fists and the rest of the with his finger lightning. The only ones left were the evacuation choppers that were supposed to get the islanders off the island. They landed at each village.

Godzilla looked at Gorosaurus. They said something to each other. Then Gorosaurus followed the choppers back to Monster Island. Godzilla had told Gorosaurus to go back home. The rivalry between him and King Kong was far too complex for him to help with. So the other dinosaur went home. King Kong and Godzilla circled and glared at each other. They waited for the other to attack. Finally, Kong lunged at Godzilla, grabbing him by the tail. Godzilla roared in surprise as his adversary spun him around. He let go, sending Godzilla sailing through the air. He landed in the ocean. The water began to boil. Kong stared at the boiling liquid in curiosity. His curiosity got the best of him, as a blue atomic blast emerged from the water and blasted him in the face, blinding the massive simian. He bellowed in pain as Godzilla rose out of the water, steaming and furious. He walked onto the land. He felt a sharp pain is his tail. He looked around and saw a monster that disappeared 38 years ago. That monster was… Ebirah! Godzilla was shocked and tried to blast the massive lobster. Ebirah leaped away, causing the blast to hit Godzilla’s tail. Godzilla roared in pain. “How, why, what’s going on?” General Kasan asked. “Apparently, Ebirah survived his battle with Godzilla in 1966. This is not good at all.” Miki replied. “General, you have to deploy the rest of the fighters. The evac-choppers have returned.” Shinado said. “It won’t be enough.” The general replied. “We have to try something!!!” Shinado and Miki said. “Oh, alright. Lieutenant! Deploy the remaining fighters.” He ordered. “Yes general.” He said back.
Ebirah clamped his huge claws on Godzilla’s tail. Kong leaped into the air and smashed his fist into Godzilla’s face, nearly breaking the mighty reptile’s jaw. Godzilla howled in agony as King Kong struck him again. Godzilla was going to lose! Suddenly, Ebirah was hit in the carapace with a large missile. The Navy had arrived, and they deployed their fighters and choppers. The Pave-Lows landed on the ground. Dozens of Japanese soldiers emerged from the choppers, armed with RPG Launchers and Rocket Launchers. They began firing, focusing on King Kong. The attacks did minimal damage, but it was enough to distract the massive gorilla. “KEEP FIRING! DON’T LET UP! WE HAVE TO KEEP HIM AWAY FROM GODZILLA!!!!” Captain Maroa cried. They were crushed by Kong. Only a few survived, and they kept fighting.
“Come on!” Miki cried from the JSDF Control Room. “Don’t give up, Godzilla!” She said to herself as she watched Godzilla fight. More and more soldiers were being killed by the minute. However, the remaining soldiers kept fighting. “If Godzilla is defeated, then King Kong and Ebirah will head for Japan. We won’t be able to stop them if they do that.” One soldier said. “I hate to say this, Miki, but he’s right. If the two of them come here, they’ll destroy us.” General Kasan told Miki. “I know, but the soldiers can’t give up. And neither can Godzilla.” She said back.

Godzilla pried Ebirah’s massive claw open, freeing his bleeding arm. Then he launched Ebirah at the distracted King Kong. The two monsters collided, sending them both to crashing to the ground. Kong was furious and threw the huge lobster off of his body. Kong roared and leaped at Godzilla. Godzilla had anticipated this action and smashed Kong in the face, sending him crashing into a large mountain. The massive ape tried to counter, but the mountain collapsed on top of him. Kong bellowed as he was crushed. Thinking Kong had been dispatched with, he looked around for Ebirah. His search led him into the forest as he watched the few surviving soldiers get back onto the choppers. Godzilla trudged through the dense forest, searching for his other enemy. He uprooted trees, thinking that being the cowardly crustacean had burrowed under the ground. His accusations are incorrect, and Godzilla learned this the hard way, as Ebirah put the squeeze on Godzilla’s left leg, seemingly appearing from nowhere. Godzilla crushed Ebirah’s claw with his other foot. Ebirah chirped as Godzilla blasted him, sending him flying through the air. Ebirah hit the ground, paralyzed. Godzilla walked over to his fallen enemy and began to charge his mega atomic blast. Just as he was about to release the blast, he was knocked to the ground. Dazed, he staggered to his feet and looked around. The ground rumbled, and Godzilla located the object that knocked him down. He gazed at the creature in horror. He saw the monster that his father defeated in 1995. The creature was the living form of the Oxygen Destroyer, Destoroyah.
“No! It can’t be! He was destroyed!” The General said in shock. “How can he still be alive? He was completely destroyed in 1995!” Miki said as she watched the screen. All of the people in the large room watched the screen in horror. The battle for the fate of so many lives was on the line.

Godzilla roared in fury at Destoroyah. Destoroyah roared back, lifting into the air. Godzilla watched, snarling at the evil creature with anger burning in his eyes. The huge monster circled in the sky and kicked Godzilla to the ground. Godzilla roared and attempted to blast Destoroyah. Destoroyah shrieked and activated some sort of energy barrier that deflected the beam. He redirected the attack to Ebirah. Ebirah was hit and roared in agony. Destoroyah landed in front of his reptilian enemy. He unleashed his micro oxygen blast at Godzilla, causing several pieces of the dinosaur’s skin to blow off. Godzilla roared as a result of the massive pain. Then the massive mutant smashed Godzilla in the face with his massive fist. Godzilla flew through the air. Destoroyah leaped into the air in the direction of King Kong. He was about to land, until he was blasted in the back by a type of beam. He spiraled out of control and landed on top of the rubble, and Kong. Godzilla landed too, and after shaking his pain off, he noticed where the blast had come from. The moth goddess, Mothra! She chirped as she flew over to Godzilla. Godzilla thanked Mothra as he stood up. Mothra was just about to attack Destoroyah when Ebirah leaped on top of her and Tore pieces of her elegant wings off with his huge claws. Mothra chirped in pain and tried to shake the colossal lobster off of her abdomen. Godzilla smashed Ebirah with his mighty tail, sending him sailing through the air and he crashed on top of Destoroyah. Destoroyah gasped, the massive weight of Ebirah cutting off his air supply. He then released an Oxygen Absorber. The energy ball absorbed the oxygen around the three monsters, causing their bodies to glow. Godzilla and Mothra watched in confusion, along with the military personnel in the JSDF Control Room. The monsters burst into tiny particles, and the particles started to mix together. The resulted combination of the cells caused a massive explosion. Godzilla and Mothra were amazed for a few seconds, the explosion knocking them out temporarily. They were awoken by a blood-curdling roar. They opened their eyes, and the saw the source of the roar. A few meters away stood what used to be King Kong, Ebirah, and Destoroyah. But, the Micro Oxygen that was released had combined their bodies and minds to create an amazingly powerful monster. The name of this monster was… Kobirah. The monster had Ebirah’s claws, Kong’s body, and Destoroyah’s wings and tail. His head looked like a cross between the heads of King Kong and Destoroyah, with Destoroyah’s frill and horn, and Kong’s face, only it looked extremely evil. Mothra and Godzilla looked horrified as Kobirah walked closer to them. The three monsters looked each other in the eyes. Kobirah broke the tension and smashed Mothra in the face with his tail. Mothra chirped and crashed onto the ground. The fused creature then jabbed his tail into Mothra’s thorax. Mothra squealed in horrible agony as the energy from her body was absorbed. Godzilla blasted the tail off with his heat ray, but much to his surprise, Kobirah didn’t roar in pain. He instead closed his eyes and snarled. Within seconds, his tail had grown back. Godzilla seemed to say something to Mothra. After he finished, she rose into the air and headed back to Monster Island. “Mothra must be going to get help!” Miki said in joy. “I believe this, too. But not even the combined strength of all of the monsters might will be enough to stop this creature.” The general replied. “How do you know that, sir?” Miki asked in confusion. “Because, I have the power to see the future. And this monstrosity will destroy the Earth. No other monster can stand against him. The Prophecy will be fulfilled, and there is nothing you humans can do to stop Kobirah!” The general preached. “Are you, a, Kobirahnite?” Miki questioned. “Yes, I am. And as I said before, the Prophecy will be fulfilled!” he cried. “What does the Prophecy say will happen?” Miki asked again. “The Prophecy starts off saying that there are three mighty creatures. King Kongura, The Gorilla God, Gosarba, The Sea God, and Desoryata, The Mutation God. They were all powerful. Although, they were second only to Mothra, The Insect God, Godzolla, The Dinosaur God, and Radonas, The Flying God. The six monsters engaged in a battle that would decide the fate of the ancient world. Godzolla, Mothra, and Radonas eventually silenced our gods. And now, since that day, thousands of years ago, we have awaited the coming of our saviors. But now creatures that appear to be direct ancestors of our gods have appeared over the years. The Prophecy went on to state that once Kongura, Gosarba, and Desoryata combined their power, the Earth would be destroyed, and the destiny of the Kobirahnites will be fulfilled.” He finished. “Our monsters will defeat Kobirah!” Miki said in confidence. “Ha ha ha ha ha ha! We will see, you fool.” The “general” said. Then he sprouted wings that resembled Kobirah’s and blasted through the roof. “Our monsters will save us, just like they always have! You and the other Kobirahnites will see! Just you wait!!” she yelled into the sky.

Godzilla ran at Kobirah. Kobirah unleashed his lightning attack from his mouth at Godzilla, knocking him down. Godzilla got back up, and launched his atomic beam. Kobirah countered with his own attack, the micro oxygen blast. The beams collided, pushing against each other. Kobirah increased the power of his attack, causing in to go strait through Godzilla’s attack. Godzilla’s eyes widened as he was hit by the crimson ray. Again he fell to the ground. This time, he didn’t pick himself up. Kobirah walked over to the fallen dinosaur. He inspected Godzilla’s body briefly. He roared in victory. His pride was short-lived. Godzilla had faked the entire thing and had waited for Kobirah to get close to him so the he would take the most damage possible from Godzilla’s beam. The blue blast hit Kobirah in the chest, forcing him backwards. Kobirah fell over this time. Then Godzilla stood up and leaped strait into the air. Then he used the same technique that he used on Megaguirus in 2000. He landed on top of Kobirah, forcing all of his weight on the fused menace. Kobirah shrieked in pain and stood up, knocking Godzilla away. Godzilla regained his balance and looked out over the ocean briefly. Kobirah attempts to take advantage of the situation, but the ground beneath him begins to cave in, and two monsters pull him under the ground. The monsters were Baragon and Angurius. They roared at Godzilla. Godzilla roared back and went to help them. Kobirah burst out of the ground, only to be knocked out of the sky by Rodan. Rodan squawked and landed next to Godzilla. Godzilla shook Rodan’s claw. Kobirah stood up, infuriated. He fell down for a third time as Manda wrapped around his legs. The massive serpent bit into the fusion’s leg. Kobirah shrieked in agony and forced Manda off. His body began to glow, and bits of energy began to surround him. “Miki! What’s happening to Kobirah?” a soldier named Kanaso asked. “I don’t… oh, no. He must be absorbing the energy from King Ghidorah, Spacegodzilla, Gigan, and Megalon!” she answered. She was right. The massive surge of energy caused him to increase in size. The energy did this, and gave him the legs of Gigan; caused one of his arms became a drill like Megalon’s, gave him Spacegodzilla’s telepathic powers and shoulder crystals, and gave him three heads, like Ghidorah. He was now even stronger than before. He was also given all of the other monsters energy attacks. Godzilla, Anguirus, Manda, Rodan, and Baragon watched in horror as Kobirah grew in strength. They didn’t seem to stand a chance. The odds were evened slightly when Varan arrived on the island. He snarled at Kobirah. The final battle was about to begin…

Anguirus attacked first. He charged at Kobirah. Kobirah leaped into the air, trying to avoid Anguirus. The spiked monster stopped directly under Kobirah and crouched down. Kobirah landed on his shell. All three of his heads roared in pain. He grabbed Anguirus by the tail and threw him into the air. Then his shoulder crystals illuminated. He unleashed the gravity beams that he had inherited at Anguirus. Angurirus flinched. He was surprised that the beams hadn’t hit him yet. The reason was because another monster had saved him. The monster that had saved him was Gamera, The Guardian Of The Universe. The two reptiles smiled at each other as they landed. Kobirah roared in fury. He took his anger out on Baragon and smashed the burrowing monster in the face with his tail. Baragon roared and fell to the ground. He stood up while Varan started to taunt Kobirah. Baragaon ran and jabbed his horn right into Kobirah’s right leg. Kobirah shook his leg, trying to shake Baragon off. Then he realized that this was useless and fired his new corona beam at Baragon’s neck. Baragon moved away and deflected the blast back to Kobirah’s middle face with his heat ray. Kobirah fell over backwards, putting his hands over his burning middle eyes. Rodan circled above the fallen monster and pecked at the eyes on Kobirah’s left head. The fusion monster shrieked and wrapped his left head around Rodan’s neck. Rodan roared in surprise as he gasped for air. Godzilla and Gamera grabbed the neck and squeezed. He released Rodan and clamped his right claw onto Gamera’s right leg as he stood up. Gamera roared as he fell over. Then Kobirah blasted Godzilla in the feet, tripping him as well. Kobriah then lifted himself into the air and charged his micro-oxygen ray. He unleashed the blast; only this blast was much stronger than before. The blast hit Gamera’s shell head on. Gamera felt the blast, but the damage was minimized. Godzilla stood up and blasted at Kobirah. Kobirah evaded the blasts easily and taunted Godzilla. Godzilla was furious and thought of what he could do. Then, he called all of the other monsters to him. Godzilla told them his plan while Kobirah watched impatiently. After a few moments, the monsters looked at Kobirah. Then Gamera roared and grabbed Anguirus, Varan grabbed Baragon by the underarms, and Manda crawled onto Rodan’s back. Godzilla remained on the ground. Kobirah braced himself as Gamera and Anguirus approached. Gamera threw Anguirus into the air and began to create a plasma ball. Anguirus landed on the ball and Gamera launched it. Kobirah was shocked that Anguirus wasn’t in any pain. The spiked monster snarled and leaped off the ball of energy at Kobirah, shell-first. He hit the fused monster in the chest, piercing the monster’s chest. Kobirah roared in anguish as he blasted by the plasma ball in the faces. The pain was just beginning for Kobirah. He looked around as Gamera carried Anguirus back to the ground. I was Varan and Rodan’s turns. They approached the enemy. Kobirah roared and fired his gravity beams at Rodan. Rodan and Manda evaded the blast, but the blast followed them wherever they went! Manda hissed at the beam while Rodan turned and faced it. He launched his own heat beam, trying to deflect the blast. Rodan was losing power and told Manda to leap off of his back and try to wrap around Kobirah’s three necks. Manda did so, barely escaping Rodan’s fate. The giant pterosaur’s beam faded away, draining the last of his power. The blast connected, hitting Rodan in the right wing and cutting a hole strait through it. Rodan roared in pain as he plummeted towards the ocean. He splashed into the ocean, seemingly dead. Godzilla ran over to get him out, because Rodan’s large wings caused him to swim poorly. As Godzilla stepped into the water, Manda wrapped himself around Kobirah’s necks. Kobirah gasped for air, distracting him from Varan and Baragon. Varan circled around. Then the god monster gave Baragon the signal to attack Kobirah. Baragon responded and charged his heat ray. Then he launched the fiery blast at Kobirah’s chest. The blast connected and Manda leaped off of the massive creature. Kobirah fell to the ground, landing and causing the entire island to tremble. Godzilla, Gamera, and Anguirus walked over to the large crater while Varan, Manda, and Baragon landed.

“I think… I think they actually defeated Kobirah!” Lieutenant Karo said. “Possibly. But… Oh my… Look!” Miki said back. They watched the screen as two green eyes sliced through the smoke. Kobirah stood up and lifted Gamera into the air with his telepathic powers. Gamera roared and try to break the hold, but Kobirah’s powers were too powerful. Varan and Anguirus charged at Kobirah. They both lunged at the evil creature, but they hit and invisible shield and flew backwards. Godzilla and Baragon had to try something now. They stood next to each other and tried to blast Kobirah, but the psychic monster deflected the two blasts at Gamera. Gamera tried to withdraw into his shell, but Kobirah strengthened his hold and rendered Gamera helpless. He was hit by the two blasts head-on. Kobirah released Gamera, causing the huge terrapin to fall to the ground. He couldn’t even stand up. Kobirah had drained his power while he held him with his mind. Then the fusion creature roared at the remaining monsters and charged his combination gravity/corona blast. He was just about to launch the blast when he was knocked down onto the ground. Rodan had recovered, but still was unable to fly well. He landed on the ground beside Godzilla. The six monsters stood ready. Kobirah stared at all of them. He lifted into the air slightly and flew at full speed strait at Varan while illuminating his large horn. To be sure that he would hit Varan, he blasted Godzilla, Rodan, Anguirus, Manda, and Baragon out of the way. The five monsters fell back, leaving Varan open. Varan was being held by Kobirah’s mind, making motion impossible. Kobirah hit something, but it wasn’t Varan. He had hit Gamera. The Guardian Of The Universe somehow mustered enough strength to stop Kobirah from hitting his ally. Gamera had used every last bit of strength to save Varan. Kobirah flew back and landed in the large volcano in the center of the island. He roared as the burning lava burned his rough skin severely. Godzilla, Varan, Baragon, Manda, and Rodan rushed over to Gamera. Gamera looked up at his friends and slowly stood up. Then he looked up into the darkened sky and closed his eyes. He flashed several times and roared. Then he looked at the others and smiled as he broke apart into tiny molecules. “What’s happening to Gamera?” Karo asked. “Gamera is the Earth’s Guardian. He must have sacrificed himself to better the Earth.” Miki replied as a tear rolled down her face. Godzilla and the others watched as the molecules spun around them. They all wanted Gamera back. The molecules went over to the volcano and spread across the top. Kobirah smashed against them, trying to get out, but the tiny particles held. They sealed the volcano, forever entombing Kobirah inside the burning mountain. Then the molecules spread all across the planet. “They saved us!” one of the soldiers cried. “Yes, but at what price?” Miki asked. “Your right. Gamera is gone, but his spirit will protect the Earth forever, just like Gamera and the other monsters did.” Karo replied.

Back on the island, the monsters had mixed feelings about their victory. Yes, they did save the Earth, but they lost Gamera, one of there strongest is allies and friends. “NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! YOU CANNOT DEFEAT KOBIRAH!!!! HE IS INVINCIBLE!” the general cried. The monsters looked up at him. Godzilla charged his super-charged atomic blast and launched it at the Kobirahnite. He screamed as the blast incinerated his body. The last Kobirahnite was destroyed, along with King Kong, Ebirah, and Destoroyah. Gamera had been destroyed, too, but his sacrifice was not in vain, and he saved the Earth with his friends. Godzilla, Anguirus, Baragon, Manda, Varan, and Rodan walked into the water and went back to Monster Island to see Gorosaurus and Mothra. Godzilla looked back, almost hoping to see Gamera standing there, but he wasn’t, and he followed the others home.

The End
