Tyrantis: Area 51 Unleashed!
By: Willie Cope

After the great battle took place beyond the museum's walls, the owners of the Daikaiju museum were having problems. The three new monsters in the museum were very, very aggressive. One of them, Kongamatu, was a predatory pterosaur discovered alive in Africa. It was a dull orange color with yellow wings. It head had a crown of five yellow horns behind its brilliant green eyes. Before it was made kaiju size it was a nearly T. Rex sized animal, able to carry animals as big as a zebra into the air. By nature it was a vicious animal, and its increased intelegence didn't help.
The second monster was also from Africa. It was the fabled Mokele Mbembe, a burgundy sauropod dinosaur native to the swamps of Southern Africa. Its body, like most sauropods, had a long, stiff neck and a long, more flexible whip-like tail. It too was aggressive by nature, killing hippos and elephants on sight. The monster constantly tried to push down the walls of its tank, rearing up on its hind legs and pounding on the shatterproof glass.
The third and final monster was Yeti, a large white ape from the Himalayan Mountains. Yetis were notorious man-killers, and had to be appeased by sacrifices of milk. This Yeti, like his fellow kaiju, was even more aggressive because of his heightened intelegence. His light blue skin was covered in a white fur, which was penetrated by his blood red eyes.

All three monsters were acting especially violent today. The scientists thought it was the battle outside that drove them so mad. They were wrong. A black cloud had entered the minds of the monsters and they were struggling to break free of its control. Yeti finally gave up and slumped onto the ground. He stood back up with glowing green eyes. Mokele fell next, and then Kongamatu. The three monsters hissed and bowed their heads as an unknown force blew holes in the roofs above them. The three monsters scrambled out of the Daikaiju museum and ran towards the area the black cloud commanded them to go toward. They smashed the newly created buildings as they went, then disappeared in a flash of light.
The scientists in the Museum, including Doctor Lerna, watched in amazement. A messenger from the communications room broke the silence.
"Dr. Lerna, Japan has asked for our help. Apparently they've been attacked by two golden, three-headed dragons from space," the messenger approached Lerna, holding back the laughter that the desperate plea had given him.
"Tell them we're having some big problems of our own and that we'll help them when we can," Lerna replied with a grim look on his face.
Outside of the museum, life was changing for three animals. Earlier that day Quetzoalcoatyl's blood had spilled onto a bee that was carrying pollen from a very rare species of flytrap. Smowg's blood had spilled upon a scorpion, and some of the seaweed from Leviathan's back had fallen and was eaten by a cricket which, in turn, was eaten by a small green anole lizard. The dragon flesh they unknowingly consumed was now mutating all three of the animals. The bee, a female of her species, grew until her body was thirty meters in length. Her wingspan was eighty meters long, which was pretty large. Her body defied the laws of physics, but then again bees always have. On her back was one of the long scarlet tail feathers of Quetzoalcoatyl, a mark of where her size and stature came from. Dr. Lerna and the humans from the Daikaiju museum were watching the mutation. The doctor named her Vespa. The scorpion grew until his body was fifty meters long. His tail was much longer at one hundred meters long. On his back were six diamonds, a mark that told who he got his powers from. He was named Sasbaso by one of the other scientists in the museum for unknown reasons.
The third mutation was the anole, which grew until his body (excluding his tail) was fifty meters long. A mane of seaweed stretched from his neck to his tail tip, showing which monster gave him his strength. The anole monster was named Drako by one of the scientists after the dragon constellation, Draco. Vespa saw what had taken the escaped monsters. The bee saw a gigantic metal ship in the sky sending a beam of ultraviolet light at the trio. Bees, unlike humans, are able to see colors in the ultraviolet spectrum that are invisible to humans. The light reacted with the monsters and absorbed them, causing a flash of visible light. Vespa could see the cloaked ship and knew instinctively what to do.

Sasbaso, on the other hand, didn't care about the destructive monsters. The scorpion was filled with the rage that had filled Smowg and wished to take it out on Vespa. The scorpion scuttled towards the bee and prepared to strike. Vespa saw the advancing arachnid, turned toward him, and injected him with her stinger. The toxins within her stinger weren't fatal to the scorpion, but it still caused him a massive amount of pain. The scorpion reared up its tail and took aim, but Drako stopped it. The anole lizard grabbed Sasbaso's tail and flew into the air one wings made of seaweed and began to spin, holding onto the arachnid while he flew. Then he released his prisoner, sending the scorpion careening into the sea. The two remaining monsters looked at each other and nodded. Vespa led the way as the two followed the UFO.
Sasbaso struggled to get out of the water, but eventually he accomplished his mission. He could smell the two monsters that defeated him. With Smowg's fiery anger burning in his soul, Sasbaso pursued his foes.

On board the UFO ship, the only member of its crew looked out his window at the world below. The alien had gray skin and was about the size of a three-year-old child. His face had no nose, just two nostrils. His lip-less mouth was filled with sharp, needle shaped teeth. Half of his body was hidden from sight by a six-foot tall robotic walking chair, a device he needed because his fragile legs were too weak to walk.
His masters had sent him and two others to this planet to deplete it of its weapons and population so that when the invasion force would come it would be ready for destruction. If they succeeded, their home worlds would be safe. It was simple enough for him, until he found out what resources he had. He was given one space ship full of chupacabras, genetic monsters that members of the Killak armada often employed for small attacks. The chupacabras were good monsters because their DNA allowed them to grow up to twenty-five meters in height or shrink to the size of a cat and because they were easy to manufacture. Their flaws were their fragility and stupidity. Luckily, thanks to Killak mind-control technology, the alien had come up with a great plan. He could kidnap some of the monsters on earth and use them to do his bidding. His first target was the city called Las Vegas, one of the largest human breeding grounds on the planet.
The alien wondered how his comrades, the two Simian aliens, were doing with their invasion of the other giant-monster filled area. They had been given two of the strongest monsters in the Killak arsenal to conquer the earth. "Lucky bastards." the alien conqueror thought to himself with anger in his hearts. His disdain would have to wait for now, though, as he had arrived at his destination. He pressed a few buttons and unleashed hell upon the unsuspecting city of sin.
Yeti jumped onto the Caveman Casino, smashing the gambling building and all of its inhabitants. He grabbed one of the gigantic bones that adorned the top of the casino and used it as a bludgeon, smashing building after building. He beat his chest and looked at the screaming people below. His glowing green eyes struck so much fear into the panicking mob that they stood still. The white ape roared and grabbed a fistful of them and shoved them into his mouth like a bunch of gummy bears, crunching their bones beneath his teeth. Yeti pursued the mob as they began to run again.

Kongamatu soared above the city, creating sonic booms that sent several pedestrians sprawling on the ground. Cars were thrown into the air by the winds, only to fall upon the unfortunate souls beneath them. The monster screeched and grabbed a train right from its tracks, carrying it into the air until it was several miles up. Then, with a cruel cackle, the reptavian dropped the train to the ground. Kongamatu continued to swoop across the city, looking for prey.
Mokele Mbembe was as destructive was just as destructive as the other monsters. His tail swished from side to side, leveling four to six buildings with one flick. He stomped on the ground hard with his gigantic legs, tearing up the pavement and crushing cars with relative ease. The monster's head, which stretched out several meters before his body, snapped at the fleeing humans. He'd take a mouthful, grind them into paste, spit them out, and then go and do it again. The death count grew higher and higher every passing minute.
The death march was stopped by the arrival of Vespa and Drako. They had been pursuing the spaceship for days, but they had finally caught up with the alien scourge. Yeti snarled and leaped at Drako while Kongamatu soared after Vespa. Mokele, on the other hand, continued to focus his intentions on the city.
Drako bit Yeti's arm, making the ape scream in pain. The gecko-like monster's sticky feet tore chunks of hair out of his foe, and again the simian screamed. The lizard was now out of his foe's grasp and decided to continue the assault, whipping the ape's face with his long tail. With seething rage the primate punched Drako repeatedly in the face, knocking his foe into a building.
Vespa and Kongamatu were caught in an aerial dogfight. The pterosaur pursued her with great speed, screeching at her with anger. Vespa decided it was time to end the chase. She began to rub her pollen covered legs together, sending glittering pollen towards Kongamatu. It hit his flesh and glowed magically. The pollen turned into vines that wrapped all around the bird-like reptile's body. The vines grabbed his wings and pulled them in until they were bound to his sides. Now unable to fly, Kongamatu plummeted to the ground.
Vespa hovered towards Kongamatu, her stinger exposed and ready to do its job. However, Kongamatu had a trick up his sleeve. His prehensile arrowhead tipped tail remained unbound, and with one slash he cut through the vines that wrapped around his body. The pterosaur leaped back into the air and continued the pursuit to Vespa's dismay. What was worse, Sasbaso had followed the monsters. The scorpion saw Vespa's plight and rushed towards her. He raised his tail and tried to strike his foe. Vespa buzzed angrily as her two opponents closed in on her. The insect waited for both to strike and flew high into the sky. Kongamatu saw the trick and barely dodged Sasbaso's stinger, chasing after Vespa. He kept her low to the ground so that Sasbaso could help him out. Mokele stopped destroying the town to help the two other monsters kill Vespa. After that they'd destroy Drako and finish off the city. Vespa saw her plight and once again rubbed her legs together, sending pollen towards the ground. It landed on one of the few patches of dirt in the city and took root. Seconds later, a gigantic stalk appeared out of the dirt. At the top of the stalk was a great pod. A few meters away, two smaller pods sprouted from the ground. The large pod bent down, revealing that it truly was a head! The head opened up to reveal rows of tooth-like thorns. It began to rise from the ground, and soon two huge roots/legs burst from the soil bellow to help free the plant monster from its prison. A third root began to break free, as did the two smaller pods behind the monster. The pods hissed, revealing that they too were heads, as they were freed from the dirt. They were the tails of the plant monster. The plant beast, which would later be named Chloris, roared and charged at Mokele.
Vespa buzzed excitedly and flew high into the air with Kongamatu in pursuit. Sasbaso, unable to follow, hissed and clicked his claws in agitation. The bee flew higher and higher with Kongamatu still following. Then she made a sudden turn, then another. Kongamatu was surprised but persistent, chasing after Vespa and forgetting everything else around him. That was exactly what the bee wanted him to do. She kept flying until she was sure he was no longer aware of his surroundings, then flew towards the ground. The bee swooped down towards a building with Kongamatu gaining speed. Just as she was about to hit it she pulled up, narrowly missing the structure. Kongamatu wasn't as fortunate, landing straight into it. Slightly dazed and confused, Kongamatu opened his eyes to see light green foot. He looked up to see a beast akin to those that had fought his ancestors.
Tyrantis had finally entered the fray.
Kongamatu, partially because of the alien mind control and partially because of his aggressive nature, immediately attacked Tyrantis. The dinosaur expected as much and grabbed Kongamatu in his jaws. With great strain the tyrannosaur threw his opponent into the city. Tyrantis stomped towards his fallen foe, wasting no time in continuing the fight. Kongamatu was just getting up when Tyrantis head-butted Kongamatu, sending the stunned pterosaur into the air and back to the ground. Tyrantis opened his jaws and rained fire onto the bird-like beast. Kongamatu snarled and jumped back into the air, flying at Tyrantis with the intent to destroy him. Tyrantis roared and shot a fireball from his throat at the flying foe, sending Kongamatu to the ground once again. Tyrantis grabbed one of the casinos, The Shining Shamrock, and threw it at his opponent's head. Kongamatu squealed in terror as debris collided with his skull. The winged reptile fell down with such force that two tall buildings by him fell too, burying him under debris.

Tyrantis turned away from his foe, thinking it was over. However, the rustling sound beneath the debris caught his ear. Tyrantis turned around slowly to see Kongamatu rising from the rubble like a phoenix. The reptavian shook itself to get the remaining debris off its body and looked at Tyrantis with its brilliant green eyes. However, something was different. They weren't glowing as they had before. Kongamatu was free from the mind control! The orange pterosaur cawed and jumped into the air, not noticing Tyrantis. He saw Mokele Mbembe and instinctively felt the urge to fight. Kongamatu soared at his old playmate, who was busy battling Chloris. His powerful legs grabbed Mokele's back and lifted him into the air, like he had done when they were younger in Dr. Lerna's daikaiju growing lab. However, Mokele had grown much heavier than Kongamatu remembered, and was fighting back viciously. Kongamatu dropped Mokele on his back, causing a massive blow to the sauropod's head. Mokele's eyes opened, revealing their true red and yellow color. With great effort Mokele lifted his body off of the ground as his wounds began to heal. He roared, reared up on his hind legs and stomped on the ground. Kongamatu cawed and began to wrestle with Mokele playfully.
Tyrantis was able to put two and two together. He saw Drako losing his fight with Yeti and decided to intervene. Tyrantis ran towards the titans and, with one well-placed head-butt, knocked Yeti back to his senses. Yeti grumbled as though he had just woke up from a long nap when he saw Mokele and Kongamatu. Grinning with happiness, Yeti hooted and joined his child-hood friends in their playful fight. Tyrantis sighed in relief and closed his eyes. He was ready to go home.
Vespa joined the joyful monsters with Sasbaso bound in a vine prison. Chloris stood by her side, snapping his jaws at Sasbaso in a teasing way. Tyrantis turned back towards San Fransisco and began his trip home.
Suddenly the UFO descended from the sky, its captain's voice booming from it. "YOU THINK YOU'VE WON, EARTHLINGS? I HAVE YET ANOTHER SURPRISE FOR YOU!" Tyrantis rolled his eyes at the annoyance. He just wanted to go home!
The spaceship's doors opened as hundreds of flying monsters swarmed out of it. The chupacabras had been sent loose! Kongamatu smiled and jumped into the air, cackling as he gleefully as he killed the hideous genetic freaks. Mokele swished his tail angrily, snapping the necks of his unwary foes. Yeti jumped into the air and grabbed the monsters, eating them hungrily. All the monsters did their part in destroying the swarms, but they kept coming. Tyrantis had a plan. He grunted at Kongamatu and motioned to his back, then Kongamatu, then the sky. Kongamatu nodded and grabbed Tyrantis's back, lifting him into the sky. Tyrantis motioned towards the ship, and away they went. The dinosaur king sent fireball after fireball at the chupacabras, killing any that tried to stop them. When they got close enough to the ship, Tyrantis channeled all the rage and weariness in his heart and looked at the ship. He released a fiery inferno into the spaceship's open door, incinerating its power core. The UFO sputtered noisily and exploded in a great ball of fire. The chupacabras shrieked at the sight; without the spaceship's control module, their unstable DNA would fall apart. They exploded in midair as well, raining burning metal and flesh onto the destroyed city of Las Vegas.

By this time Kraydi had found Tyrantis. When the two friends laid eyes upon each other, they couldn't fight back the tears in their eyes. Only the bond of love between Tyrantis and his mate was stronger than the friendship between the two teammates. Kraydi was about to teleport themselves back to the island when Kongamatu cawed at Tyrantis. The pterosaur sensed that his friend was about to leave and wished to go with him. Yeti and Mokele stood with the flying reptile, their eyes glassy at the thought of they companion's departure. Tyrantis looked at Kraydi who nodded and lifted the three monsters psychicly. They looked for Vespa, Drako, Chloris, and Sasbaso, but the four were nowhere to be found. Baffled, the monsters returned home.
