It was quiet on the ocean floor. There never was much noise at the bottom. Not even from Godzilla himself. He'd been sleeping there for about nine years now, not even bothering to surface for energy. He didn't need it seeing as resting wasted very little energy. Occasionally he would surface to see the outside world. But for now not much was happening. As he rested, Godzilla remembered his son's death. Sad as it was it actually helped him by giving his soul a new host. Still size was a problem. His son was only 40 meters tall when he was alive. After the mega-dose of radiation he grew to 80 meters. It was better than 40, but still not sufficient enough. Oh well. Right now rest was all he needed. Suddenly something snapped in his head. An urge or temptation. He quickly rose to his feet. Was it another monster ready for a fight? Or perhaps Miki Saegusa was calling him telepathically? No it seemed like something was calling to him. A voice only a king could hear. Slowly but surely Godzilla began his long trek to the voice that called him.
Chapter 1; 4:00 PM January 14, 2004 Okinawa
Since his help in the return of the Alias to Mothra in 1992, Takuya Fujito had been paid handsomely. He had remarried his wife and was reunited with his daughter. Since then he had started an archaeological foundation. Instead of stealing he now discovered rare artifacts. Today he felt would be his lucky day. "Ready to set out?", he said. "Yep", one of his assistants replied. As the group set out, Takuya led the group his spirits high.
Godzilla had been swimming for 2 weeks now. He still didn't know what the call was, but it had ended now. He still would not give up his search though. Suddenly something came into view. An island! He knew for sure that was where the call came from. He quickened his pace to the island.
"Sir! Sir! Come quick!" Takuya hurried to the yelling. "What?!? What?!?" "Look at this." The assistant held a large stone tablet in his hand. He handed it to Takuya. The tablet had ancient Japanese writing on it. "Wow!" "Can it be translated into modern day Japanese?", asked the assistant. "With a little time and a good handbook, I should say so.", said Takuya. "Sir! We've dug deeper in the cavern and discovered more tablets." Soon wheelbarrows full of tablets were being rolled back to camp. "Well I'll just get to work on translating these tablets. And don't bother making dinner for me"
10:00 PM- Everyone at the camp rushed to the main tent to here what had been inscribed on the tablets. "Everyone here? Good." Takuya began to read what he had translated onto the paper. In the ancient time of the dinosaurs the evil ruler Bagan reined supreme over the land. The few that stood up to him perished. All except the brave Yonggary who sent out a call to the great Godzillasaurus. When the Godzillasaur arrived he would fight through Bagan's armies with Yonggary at his side. However in their time of crisis the lizard king would come to assist. When the Godzillasaurus battled Bagan and defeated him he took throne of the land and became the new ruler. However should Bagan ever return the Godzillasaur would protect his homeland. "Oh yeah, like that ever happened or will!", exclaimed one of the younger assistants. "Hey! Don't jump to conclusions. We've seen some strange stuff before and-" "I know, I know. I just highly doubt that I'd ever see it happen." Boy was he wrong.
Chapter 2; 10:00 PM January 14,2004 Dinosaur Island
Godzilla landed on a white sandy beach. He did not sense any beings around him though. Was this the place or not? His question was answered when he heard death cry from the heart of the island. It was same as the one he heard in the ocean. The call. He slowly started moving forward. He had barely moved 50 yards when something struck him in the chest. Godzilla fell to the ground. He looked up to see his attacker. It came in the form of a giant Pacheycefolosaurus. It was 60 meters tall and had a large round dome on its head. The creature appeared to built for ramming since its body was fairly muscular. Godzilla stood up and stood his ground. He tried to scare the dinosaur with a blast of thermonuclear breath at the ground by its feet. It didn't move. Either this thing was courageous or stupid. Probably both. As Godzilla built up another blast the Pachey rammed his chest. This time Godzilla dug his claws into the ground. However his blast went out into the sky, hitting only air. Godzilla turned away from his opponent, as if to go back to the ocean. The Pachey, being among the dumber dinosaurs, charged at Godzilla's back. Ever so swiftly Godzilla swung his tail at the head of the dinosaur. The Pachey took the hit hard to right side of his head, breaking the jaw. It fell to the ground near Godzilla's feet. Godzilla turned and stomped his foot on the Pachey's dome, cracking it. The immense impact on the dinosaur's skull crushed it and it died. Godzilla looked down for a few moments to make sure that it was dead. After the time elapsed Godzilla began walking into the dense jungle. As he walked he listened to distant noises. They were all so familiar. This island was like some sort of prehistoric paradise. Only the denizens were much bigger. This brought back memories of the time when he was young. But there was no time to think. He had to find the one who called for him.
Chapter 3; 6:00 AM January 15 Dinosaur Island
Godzilla awoke from his slumber. He had found a nice spot to rest. Actually any spot would have been nice since his weight crushed anything beneath him. Also his thick armor-like skin protected him from anything uncomfortable. As he rose he something felt wrong. He noticed that area around his sleeping area was different than from yesterday. It looked as if it was pressed down by some large being. His answer came when the head of a 170-meter long and high Seismosaurus head rose up. The creatures massive body had obviously flattened the area around him. The dinosaur posed no threat except perhaps the fact that it might crush him. Godzilla decided to move on to the heart of the island. As he moved he felt others around him. He stopped. He smelled blood. He moved slowly forward and found the carcass of some large dinosaur. Pieces were ripped and spread about the area. He listened. A slight purring noise was heard. He blasted the area around him with thermonuclear breath. When the area around him was smoking, he listened again. This two forms jumped at him and Godzilla received a slash to his chest. Raptors! Two of them, both 40 meters tall. They were brown with blood red stripes on their back. Their eyes were bright neon green. On each foot there was a large sickle-like claw, splashed with blood. Godzilla stood motionless. He didn't know whether to attack with thermonuclear breath or charge them. They could probably dodge both. He decided to blast them. He spat forth a beam and the raptors dodged and countered it. They both leapt up and landed on each of Godzilla's sides. Instantly they dug there claws into his flesh. Godzilla howled in pain as the claws went deeper and deeper. He detonated a nuclear pulse and both raptors went flying. One jumped up and at him, but Godzilla ducked and grabbed the foot of the dinosaur. He flung it into the trees. Godzilla turned to face the other, but it was gone. Suddenly, it jumped from the forest and onto Godzilla's neck. It slashed him with his toe claws and bit his head. Godzilla desperately flailed around. After a brief moment of intense pain, Godzilla grabbed his opponent by his chest and cracked it and split it in half. He flung the two halves to the ground and went for the other one. It still lay on the ground. Its leg was broken. Godzilla went over and stomped his foot on the other leg, breaking it. He left it that way to suffer, a lesson learned not attack something more deadly than you are. Godzilla continued to the heart of the island.
Meanwhile, at the very center of the island and monster stood. Bagan had learned that a great creature had begun his approach to him. He thought 'Could this be the legendary dinosaur coming to face me?' If it was he would not be beaten so easily. He turned and looked at the ground near him. On it lay Yonggary. He was bloody and maimed, but still alive. And he would remain that way, for further torture. Slowly three dinosaurs came forth. One resembled an Allosaurus. It was 75 meters tall and a dark, blue-green. The other was 60 meters tall and 90 meters long. It had a horn on its nose, a spikey crest, and a spikey carapace, resembling an Ankylosaurus. On its tail ran long spikes. The final dinosaur was a gigantic pteranodon, with a 80 meter wing span. Slowly the three pulled Yonggary to the outside of Bagan's domain. Then threw him on the ground and left him. Bagan knew that a great battle awaited him.
was young. But there was no time to think. He had to find the one who called for him.
Chapter 4; 1:00 PM January 15 Dinosaur Island
Godzilla had been walking for several hours now. He was close to the center of the island, but still had a few miles to go. Along the way he had stopped at a large watering hole. The residents either ran for dear life or stood in shock. Those who did were rather large; mostly large sauropods and ceratopsians. A few Pteranodons had been startled and were flying and screeching across the sky. After that the walk had been long and empty. Every being on the island probably knew of his presence by know. As he neared the center he felt a great evil ahead. The call had stopped for a time know. Still he continued. Suddenly he stopped. He felt another’s presence. He turned. A 55-meter tall Triceratops stood, challenging him. Godzilla stood his ground. This would be interesting. The Triceratops charged. Godzilla reached out and, at the last second, grabbed the horns. The creature was stronger than he thought. It pushed harder and harder until Godzilla felt the horn stab him. He let a small roar and pushed back. This creature must way several thousand tons. But Godzilla would not loose. With all his strength he lifted the dinosaur and tossed it into the jungle. He stood ready for another attack. The ceratopcian came and prepared to charge when a giant form lunged at it. It was a 65 meter tall Spinosaurus. It bit the Triceratops' neck and twisted, breaking it instantly. Then it turned for Godzilla. Thinking Godzilla was a scavenger, it attacked. Godzilla dodged, but he was tired from the previous match. After some time the Spino got bite in on Godzilla's arm Godzilla beat the dinosaur on its head but to no avail. So he bit the Spino on his hand. Together they circled, inflicting pain. Both collapsed and lay on the ground. This was what the Spinosaurus was waiting for. He released his grip and bit Godzilla's neck, attempting to break it. Godzilla was losing air and felt faint. But he would not fail his journey to find the caller. Slowly he gripped the carnosaur's top and bottom jaws and pulled. The Spinosaurus resisted, but it was hopeless. Godzilla cranked back harder and harder until he heard a wet snap and the battle was over. He got up. He was tired and weak. He needed rest. He collapsed. He would continue his journey tomorrow.
Chapter 5; 7:00 AM January 16 Dinosaur Island
Godzilla woke. His wounds were healed and he felt strong again. He rose and heard the call. This time it was blood curdling. He charged forward for it felt so close. Then he stopped. In front of him was an enormous crater. Inside was the creature known as Yonggary. Godzilla knew this is where the call came from. He slid down the wall. Godzilla came to Yonggary's aid. He seemed okay, enough to fight that is. And he would need it for out of the shadows came the three of Bagan's warriors: Anguirus, Rodan, and Gorosaurus. They all stood ready to battle. Godzilla stood ready, but not confident. He had fought of the two raptors, but they were dinosaurs and these seemed different. Godzilla began his attack with a blast of thermonuclear breath at all three. Rodan took to the air and Anguirus and Gorosaurus jumped out of the way. Rodan then dive-bombed Godzilla as the other two attacked from either side. Rodan clawed his head while Anguirus bit his shoulder and Gorosaurus bit his arm. Suddenly a fireball blasted Rodan and made him fall. Godzilla took the opportunity and slammed the other two's heads together. He turned and saw Yonggary ready to fight. They stood side by side. Godzilla took Rodan and and Anguirus while Yonggary took Gorosaurus. Yonggary rushed him and slammed together. He turned and tail whipped the upright carnivore. But Gorosaurus used the momentum to rise on his tail and kangaroo kick Yonggary. He fell and lay motionless. Gorosaurus roared in victory, thinking he won. But Yonggary turned and blasted his attacker with a fireball. Gorosaurus took it head on and fell, twitching.
Meanwhile, Godzilla was having a harder time. Whenever he drove one off the other would counter attack. He readied a blast and shot it at Anguirus, but he deflected it off his thick carapace. Rodan came from behind and clawed Godzilla's neck. Godzilla turned and bit, but only got air. Then Anguirus turned and lunged backward in to Godzilla's back. Godzilla howled in pain. He was getting beaten and bad. He needed help and he needed it now.
Several hundred miles of the the island, a rock formation crumbled and a large figure swam out at high speeds. It was heading straight for the island. The lizard king had awakened.
Chapter 6; 8:00 AM January 16 Dinosaur Island
Godzilla and Yonggary tired. They had been fighting for an hour. But they had done some damage. Gorosaurus had weakened from the fireball attack, Anguirus was limping, and Rodan had a ripped wing. But they were still loosing badly. They had been backed into a corner. Both Godzilla and Yonggary were so tired that they couldn't fire their projectile attacks. The three super dinosaurs readied their attack. But suddenly a form swftly jumped from a rock cliff and knocked down Gorosaurus. It turned and head butted Anguirus into the ground and shoulder slammed Rodan into the rock wall. Godzilla starred in amazement. What had taken them an hour took this thing a few seconds. The creature turned at Godzilla. It looked like an oversized Trex, but much more sleek. It was 70 meters tall and had long arms and legs, each with 4 claws. Along its back ran two rows of spines. Godzilla was puzzled, but if it was helping them he didn’t care. As the creature approached him a white beam racked across its side. It wailed and fell. Godzilla looked up. The beam had come from Bagan, who was on a rocky outcropping. With great force the giant monster leapt to the ground. It was 90 meters tall and was red. It had two bull-like horns on its head with another protruding from its snout. The monster was very stocky. Bagan moved forward. Godzilla readied himself. He fired a blast of thermonuclear breath at it. But Bagan fired his own beam at him. They collided and caused a small explosion. As the smoke cleared Bagan thrust his fist into Godzilla and sent him flying into wall. What force! This would indeed be a tough fight. Godzilla rose only to be smacked by Bagan's tail. Another tail whip, but Godzilla caught it and threw him to the ground. Godzilla jumped onto his attacked and was met by a barrage of energy stars. Godzilla still fell onto his enmy and elbowed Bagan in the chest. But Bagan would not have it and stabbed Godzilla in the shoulder with his nose-horn. Godzilla wailed and bit Bagan on the shoulder. Bagan threw him off and rose. He rained energy stars on Godzilla. Godzilla felt tremendous amounts of pain. Bagan then wrapped his tail around Godzilla's neck. He attempted to choke him. As Godzilla felt faint . But the lizard monster jumped and bit the end of Bagan's tail off. Bagan wailed in pain as he lost large dosses of blood. His healing process was extremely slow. He turned and saw Godzilla and the other monster next him. Godzilla charged up his breath and the other monster's spines glowed red. Godzilla spat forth a bright, yellow-orange beam and his allie shot for the a red one. They both hit home. Bagan took both full force. He collapsed. Suddenly Godzilla jumped, turned so his back faced Bagan, and impaled his back spike into Bagan's chest. He shook himself loose and a fountain of blood flowed out. Bagan knew he was dying so as a last ditch effort he fired his beam at Godzilla. But it went horribly wrong and energy started to pour out of his body. Holes opened up and released energy. A bright light consumed all around him. When it cleared Bagan was gone. Godzilla looked around. He saw Yonggary and the three monsters. Apparently they had been under Bagan's control. He turned to see the creature that had saved his life, but it had mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps it died in Bagans demise. Whatever the cause Godzilla felt sad that he could thank him. But he had to be strong. For he felt that he was now the ruler of this "Dinosaur Island". Slowly he made his way to Yonggary to, in a sense, discuss new management.
Meanwhile the newcomer was leaving the island. He would have stayed, but his job was over. He returned to ocean, to his home. But should this ever happen again, he would be there to assist the great Godzillasaur.
The End
Author's Note - Hope you liked the story. For those of you who were wondering Godzilla will look like he did in Godzilla 2000. The lizard king is GINO (aka American Godzilla). Yonggary will look like he did in Reptillian (for those of you who saw it). Anguirus and Gorosaurus look like their 60's and 70's versions and Rodan looks like the one from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. For Bagan use whatever you have as a reference to him. And the dinosaur, use your imagination.
