For Godzilla’s death in 1995’s “Godzilla vs. Destroyah”, Toho decided to have Godzilla’s internal radioactivity run wild. In order to create this Desu-Goji suit, they painted 1994’s Moge-Goji suit a dark black color and placed new translucent glowing orange patches (accomplished with lights under the patches) on the neck, arms, body, and legs of the suit. The head of the suit was also modified with new, glowing orange irises and given more mobility. The dorsal plates of the suit were also illuminated a bright orange color to reflect the runaway radioactivity. A steam effect was also given to the suit, showing that Godzilla’s internal temperature was extremely hot. This effect, created with carbon dioxide, actually caused suit actor Kenpachiro Satsuma to pass out a few times as he was overcome by the “steam”.
