1994... Steve Martin is 75 years old. At the age of 35 when Godzilla first attacked. He is retired and is visiting Emiko and Ogata in Tokyo. Although he doesn't work for the Chicago newspaper anymore, he has grown a liking for photography. One thing he was keen on taking a picture of was the new Tokyo nuclear power plant. It had the largest source of radiation in all of Tokyo. Which provided a lot of electricity.
Steve was snapping away with his camera. The structure was huge. While he was snapping away, Emiko and Ogata were at home preparing dinner, because they were letting Steve stay with them. Steve walked away from the power plant that was right next to Tokyo Harbor. The sight of Tokyo Bay brought back many memories of when Godzilla walked through the high-tension wires. Steve looked out at the sea. He felt as if something was wrong. He figured it was probably just the smell of dead fish so went back to eat dinner.
Chapter 2 – Godzilla’s First Appearance
Two Italian fishing boats were sailing along at 2:00 AM. Both had almost full nets. They were being dragged in when they all heard what sounded like a huge whale. The sound was a lot lower though. All the fisherman stopped what they were doing and listened. The sound continued. The people on the boats couldn't see anything so both boats’ lights lit up. The captains looked out with their binoculars but still couldn't see anything. The water was calm and still, when the water rose and started coming towards the boats. It looked like a huge submarine was speeding towards the boats. The large objects submerged right before it hit the nets.
The fisherman started pulling in the nets again, but then they were sucked down. The head of a huge monster arose from the water with the nets in its mouth. The creature's jaws snapped shut and it went back under. The lines started pulling the boats as well. The back of the boats collided and began to go under. When the boats had disappeared into the sea, the fisherman swam to the surface. Some of the people that were in the boats were killed. The people on the surface grabbed onto whatever could float. As they tried to catch their breath, the monster's huge tail arose from the water, some of the sailors got caught on it and some got crushed as it slammed back into the water. Only one man survived the assault. He then kicked his way back to Rome, Italy.
Tourists from all over the world were taking photographs of The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Fisherman came running from a huge creature moving towards Pisa from the ocean. The monster arose from the ocean and roared to the sky. Godzilla had returned. He made his way into Pisa. The people that were viewing the leaning tower ran for the lives. The giant lizard walked by the leaning tower and knocked it the rest of the way down with his long tail. People fled as the monster roared. Godzilla wasn't intentionally knocking down buildings and trampling the people below him; he was just making his way through the city.
As Godzilla terrified the people of Pisa, Italy, men in strange military like uniforms drove into the streets of Pisa. They launched small rockets at Godzilla's chest. They stuck into flesh and Godzilla cried out in pain. He started to get a drowsy look in his eyes. He then collapsed onto the streets. More of those men came in helicopters and dropped metal nets onto Godzilla's sleeping body. When he was completely tied up in nets, thousands of helicopters lifted Godzilla up and slowly flew him back to the ocean. They lowered Godzilla onto a giant metal platform that was being towed away by a huge ship. After he was tied down, the ship sailed away. The people of Pisa had no idea of what had just happened.
Chapter 3 - The Two Attractions
The huge ship, which was towing Godzilla, was heading towards Japan. Its sister ship was towing a giant frozen dinosaur. The largest Angliosaurs ever discovered by man. The dinosaur had two names, Anglias and Anguirus. They were to be in a huge show for all the people of Japan to see.
"This teriyaki is excellent." Steve said to Emiko.
"Thank you, Steve. I think this may be the best I've ever made it." Emiko replied.
"I agree." Ogata said.
"Hey Steve, would you want to see this before you leave?" Emiko said as a preview for a special attraction appeared on the television.
"The two largest attractions to ever be witnessed by human eyes." The preview had said.
"It sounds like fun, sure." Steve replied.
Two weeks later... All the people of Tokyo watched as there were two huge objects covered in the largest tarps anyone had ever seen. An Italian man was talking into a microphone and after he finished a sentence or two an American and Japanese man would translate it.
"These two creatures you are about to witness, are the two largest animals ever caught by man. One I'm sure you are not too familiar with. The giant frozen Angliosaurs." The tarp was pulled and everyone gazed at the frozen dinosaur. "The next I'm sure you're all too familiar with, is the great monster, Godzilla!." The second tarp was pulled, revealing Godzilla. Everyone screamed and tried to get away. "No, do not be afraid. Godzilla is tied down with wires that he will never be able to break out of." The Italian man said. Godzilla was standing up with wires that had been wrapped around him and stuck into the ground. Steve, Emiko, and Ogata stared wide-eyed at Godzilla. Steve Martin now knew what made his bad feeling come.
Godzilla slowly opened his eyes. He looked at the crowd watching him. He let out a grunt and then roared. Everyone moved back. The Italian men were panicked as Godzilla pulled the wires out of the ground and made his way into the city. The man that was on stage grabbed his chest to feel his heart and slowly fell to the ground and was crushed by Godzilla's foot. The Italians started firing more missiles at Godzilla to put him out again. Godzilla fought hard and walked over the missile launchers. Steve watched as Godzilla slowly walked towards Tokyo Bay, towards the nuclear reactor. Steve didn't know why Godzilla would be going there.
When Godzilla made it to the nuclear power plant, he started getting drowsy. The Italians fired more of their missiles into Godzilla. Godzilla started walking through the power plant, he pulled out the reactor and his spines began to glow blue. The radiation was being absorbed into Godzilla's body. When the radiation was all gone, Godzilla dropped the reactor and turned to the missile launchers. Steam arose from his mouth and blue flames spat out, and then Godzilla fired his blue beam, destroying the missile launchers. Godzilla was at full strength again as he strolled into Tokyo.
Chapter 4 – Godzilla vs. Angilas
The sun’s rays were heating up the frozen Angilas. After the ice had fallen off, Angilas fell to the ground, hardly having any skin left. Suddenly the skin that was there started covering the body again. The organs and cells began to regenerate themselves somehow. After they were completely regenerated, Angilas got up and shook what ice was left off him. Angilas then roared and started going into Tokyo, right towards Godzilla.
Godzilla knocked down a tower as he made his way into Tokyo. Godzilla stopped dead in his tracks as he came face to face with Angilas. Angilas didn't know what to make of this huge creature. Godzilla examined Anguirus. He had a long snout with a small horn on the tip of his snout, small spikes covering all of his back and along the long tail, long sharp fangs, Anguirus walked on all fours, and horns on the top of his head that went up and pointed forward. Godzilla bared his teeth as Angilas did. Angilas also had small pointy ears like Godzilla did. All of a sudden Angilas and Godzilla charged at each other. Angilas jumped onto his hind legs and they both toppled over.
Godzilla through Angilas off and they both started fighting their way towards the bay. When they made it to the bay, they both fell into the ocean, causing huge waves. The people of Tokyo watched the water bubble and foam. Steve Martin now knew things were as bad as they could get.
Many people who had survived Godzilla's first attack were questioned. Emiko, Ogata, and Steve were all questioned at the same time.
"How was Godzilla destroyed 40 years ago?" A Japanese soldier asked them all. Ogata, Emiko, and Steve looked at each other for a few moments. Emiko and Ogata nodded.
"The Oxygen Destroyer." Steve said.
"The Oxygen what?" The soldier asked.
"A scientist named Dr.Serizawa created the Oxygen Destroyer. It gets rid of all the Oxygen in the water and asphyxiates all living things in the water." Ogata said. The soldier rubbed his beard.
"Do you know how we could create such a weapon?" The soldier asked.
"No. Dr.Serizawa destroyed his research papers, and sacrificed his life for mankind." Emiko said with tears in her eyes. "We don’t know how to make another one."
"Come with me." The soldier said as he stood up. The four of them went to the Japanese army base.
"We believe that Godzilla and Angilas are heading towards Osaka. If they do battle there, we won’t be able to stop them. We must destroy them both before they reach Osaka." The General said. "We have also learned about Godzilla, some information that may make you a bit angry. The Italians revived Godzilla. Apparently the Oxygen Destroyer didn't destroy Godzilla completely. They found a chunk of skin and a small portion of bone marrow. They created an under water laboratory next to where Godzilla died. They made a whole Godzilla skeleton and even brought the piece of Godzilla flesh and all of its cells back to life. They discovered that Godzilla has regenerative powers. Godzilla would've come back, but the healing process would of taking at least 2,000 years." The General explained. "They worked on the piece of Godzilla and used special chemicals to speed up the healing process, with a lot of hard work they added it to the skeleton and it fully transformed into Godzilla in 1991,it broke free from the laboratory and all inside were killed. People from the same group captured Godzilla and it was a failure as you all saw recently."
Everyone at this meeting started shouting and muttering.
"The Italian army is very upset and is giving us full support. The Americans, Germans, and Russians are also giving support, along with China and Korea." The General added. "If Godzilla or Anguirus arrive, we will have a full force of tanks, missiles, and other weapons. If they can get past the Americans attack first."
"No, it won’t work." Steve said. "Weapons like that have been used before; all they do is make him more aggressive."
"Yes, but we can't sit here and do nothing." The general added. "You must remember our weapons are much more powerful than before. I think our chances of killing these two monsters are very likely."
Chapter 5 – First Strike
Huge U.S ships were sailing about 50 miles from Osaka. They had found both Godzilla and Angilas.
"Angilas is about 10 miles apart from Godzilla." One of the sailors said to the captain. The captain turned on his radio and said,
"Fire a Tomahawk missile at Angilas and Godzilla." The Captain said. One missile was launched from the boat and it headed for Angilas, while the other one launched and headed towards Godzilla.
A ship was following Godzilla and was to report if the missile hit or not. The same with Anguirus. The ship following Angilas stopped when he submerged and roared at the ship. Then he looked up and saw the missile coming straight at him. He roared one last time before the missile made a direct hit. The people on the ship saw didn't see Angilas as the missile exploded.
The ship following Godzilla had the same thing happen. Godzilla arose from the sea, only to be hit by the tomahawk missile. Both ships reported that the missiles made direct hits, but Angilas and Godzilla continued moving. They were indeed heading towards Osaka. The people of Osaka were evacuated as soon as they heard that the Tomahawk missile strike failed. All troops were rushed to Osaka Bay to await the monsters. The Americans were certain that Godzilla would beat Angilas to Osaka. Troops from around the world readied their weapons.
Before Godzilla could reach Osaka, the Americans, Germans, and Russians were going to make one last at attempt to stop these monsters. Three submarines, one from each continent, would launch an attack on the monsters. Godzilla was going through the water at high speed, but stopped when he saw the three submarines heading his way. Two torpedoes came from each submarine. The six torpedoes all hit Godzilla. He cried out as the ocean above him spurted high into the sky. Angered by this ambush Godzilla swam at the American sub and clawed it open. He then grabbed onto it and swam towards the German sub and let go of it and it slowly collided with the German sub. Everyone in both submarines were killed. The Russian sub fired three torpedoes at Godzilla, they all hit with no effect.
"Let's let him chase us. We may be able to get him away from Japan." The Captain said, but his idea was in vein as Godzilla slammed his tail into the sub and it sank to the bottom as well. Godzilla continued his journey to Osaka.
Chapter 6 – Osaka’s Destruction
The soldiers at Osaka waited nervously as Godzilla came closer to them. They had their lights on the ocean at all times. Nearby ships were making one last desperate attempt to lead the monsters away by shooting flares into the air, as Godzilla was attracted to light, which got men killed in 1954 that were taking pictures of Godzilla, the flashes attracted him.
When Godzilla arose from the sea the flares were launched. Godzilla looked at them and stared, but decided to keep heading for Osaka. All the military equipment on the bay opened fire onto Godzilla. Rockets, missiles, all went flying at Godzilla. He roared in surprise as he was attacked. Godzilla got angrier every time he was hit with a weapon. As Godzilla got very close he set off underwater mines, which did not stop him. Tanks fired, men fired their grenade launchers, and all of these attempts to kill Godzilla were in vein. Godzilla got out of the water and started his way into Osaka. He kicked tanks and missile launchers out of his way. Before Godzilla could get into the city, Angilas arose from the sea. All remaining weapons fired at him, because the flares had no effect on Angilas. These weapons didn't have any less effect on Anguirus as it did on Godzilla so all the troops ran for their lives as Angilas hit land. The two beasts began to fight as soon as Angilas was on land. They fought their way into the city, destroying things as they made it there. Angilas bit onto Godzilla's arm, but Godzilla through Angilas off. Godzilla powered up a beam to finish off Angilas, but when Angilas got up he opened his jaws and his mouth got wavy. He roared a sonic roar that shattered glass, and even knocked Godzilla down. Godzilla held his hands onto his head and cried out in pain, to stop it he quickly fired an energy beam that knocked Angilas off his feet. Godzilla got head butted in the gut for he was still holding his head from the extreme pain. Godzilla grabbed onto the horns on top of Angilas' head and heaved him into a skyscraper. Godzilla's spines began to glow blue and steam and blue flames spat out of his mouth. Angilas got out of the rubble and jumped at Godzilla, but Godzilla fired his beam and it hit Angilas on the chest, sending Angilas back again. Angilas was engulfed in the flames. When Godzilla stopped, Angilas was swallowed in the explosion. Angilas survived but was badly damaged.
Back out in the ocean the American ships fired 5 Tomahawk missiles. The missiles soared towards the two battling monsters. Steve Martin watched Godzilla and Anguirus battling furiously on the screen inside the base.
"Missiles closing in." said a booming voice on the intercom. "In 5...4...3...2...1...0!"
The missiles all closed in and hit Angilas and Godzilla. They both cried out in surprise and fell back. Godzilla went headfirst into the bottom of a skyscraper, which collapsed on him. Anguirus went into a mall and they were both out cold. Everyone cheered at this awesome sight. Steve was not convinced they were dead.
"Attention, attention, the monsters Godzilla and Angilas are dead!" The intercom boomed. Helicopters hovered over the presumed dead bodies.
Chapter 7 – The Final Battle
"I don't think Godzilla could be killed so easily." Steve said to the general.
"You must think Godzilla is invincible." The general replied.
"General Gorro, I know I make it seem that way, but even with today's technology, I just don't think he's dead."
"Well, if you are right, we have a new kind of weapon that may kill them. The newest and most powerful of it's kind, and there's only one. If used on land, it would melt all known metals. We didn't want to use it at first because we thought all our first attempts to stop them would destroy them. If we can get them in the water, it would cause less damage. The aftermath would fill the air with poisonous chemicals and gas. We hope that it will not be necessary."
Godzilla slowly opened up his eyes and arose from the rubble. The helicopters took off as fast as they could. Godzilla's spines began to glow and he fired his blast at Angilas. Angilas roared out in pain. Godzilla walked slowly towards the wounded Anguirus. Anguirus quickly lunged at Godzilla and sunk his fangs into Godzilla's left arm. Godzilla cried out in pain and threw Angilas off his arm and Angilas collided into the streets. Anglias started walking towards the ocean. Godzilla grabbed Angilas by the tail and started swinging him in circles and threw him back to the ground. They were both next to the Osaka castle. Angilas then got picked up by the horns on his head and tossed at the castle. Angilas started clawing at the building, but got tackled by Godzilla. They both went through the castle and into the ocean, the castle had been destroyed. Angilas and Godzilla arose from the sea and clawed and bit each other. They battled in dark red ocean. The more they fought the further they went out to sea.
Godzilla had his hands on Anguirus' jaws. Anglias tried to bite Godzilla's fingers off, but his grip was too strong. Godzilla pulled the jaws as hard as he could until they snapped. Godzilla roared and smacked Angilas' head into the ocean. Angilas sank to the bottom in his own blood and defeat. Godzilla roared in victory and submerged, leaving Osaka in ruins.
Chapter 8 – Godzilla Defeated
Everyone mourned over the soldiers that lost their lives to Angilas and Godzilla. The plan was official; the metal melting missile was going to be used on Godzilla. First, Godzilla had to be found, and he was 5 miles away from Tokyo Bay. The military knew if he weren’t stopped now, Tokyo would face the same fate it did 40 years ago. Steve Martin, Ogata, and Emiko were aloud on the boat that would locate Godzilla. No sooner had they arrived, Godzilla arose from the ocean and turned to look at the ship, he grunted. The missile was launched from the base. It soared through the sky, homing in on its target.
"Do you think the missiles will kill Godzilla?" Emiko thought aloud.
"I'm actually not sure." Steve replied. "It may destroy Godzilla, and no one will ever see him again, or men will mess with science and he will be reborn."
Godzilla looked to the sky when he heard the missile roaring towards him. The ship began to speed away so that the missile wouldn't destroy it. The huge weapon landed into the sea, a few yards in front of Godzilla. The missile stopped a few feet below the sea.
Back at the base a big red button was pressed. The missile exploded, water shot into the air. The ocean began to foam and steam rose from the boiling water. Godzilla roared slowly as the heat hit him. The boiling water reached Godzilla and he roared again. Steam began to rise from Godzilla's body. Everyone watched Godzilla crying out in extreme pain. His eyes went bloodshot.
As I watched Godzilla surrounded in boiling sea water, I felt a sudden sorrow for the creature. It seemed that everyone did. Would this really be the end of Godzilla? Would he return? Would man's carelessness create more monsters? At that moment no one was thinking of such things, they were rejoicing over the creature’s destruction. As he slowly began to submerge into the boiling sea, I wondered why Godzilla had been so terrible and violent, destroying man's creations. For now Godzilla and all his secrets and mysteries has sunk into the deep blue sea. Whether he returns or not, or is never again seen by human eyes, the things he's taught us... remain.
