In 2004, Kamakiras, along with several other Showa kaiju, returned and was revamped for Godzilla’s 50th anniversary film, "Godzilla: Final Wars". Kamakiras was made to closely resemble its original incarnation, even being made from some leftover parts of the Meganuron from Godzilla X Megaguirus. From the mandibles to the jaws/antenna, Kamakiras was the spitting image of the original version, but this time was more green in color than the original dirty red and brown. Kamakiras was again filmed mainly as a marionette, just like in 1967, with dozens of overhead wires controlling the monster puppet as they were pulled in unison by puppeteers. However, for some shots of the insect kaiju flying, attacking Paris, and when Kamakiras battled Godzilla (specifically when Kamakiras camouflaged himself with his background), CGI was used and looked fairly good when compared with other CGI shots from the film.
