Kameba the giant turtle first made his appearance in the 1970 film “Yog: Monster From Space”. Kameba was a new type of kaiju for Toho, having not done a giant turtle until this point. Whether a take on Daiei's Gamera or not, Kameba comes off as his own, unique creation. Sporting a ridged shell on both his back and head, long, vampire-like fangs, and a very interesting extendo-neck. Kameba also featured light green skin with some red areas, sharp claws on all four legs, and wide, viscous looking eyes. All in all, Kameba was and still is a very impressive design from Toho Studios.
