For his return in 2001’s “GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack”, King Ghidorah’s design came up a little… short. While the basic design went back to the roots of the original Ghidorah, they didn’t succeed where they needed to. The faces are emotionless and non-convincing and the necks are short, in part thanks to actor Akira Ohashi having his arms in the left and right necks. The necks did have extensions that were controlled by Mr. Ohashi’s arms, but the overall effect wasn’t very convincing. The teeth now looked more jagged and the mouths had two long fangs in the front of the top jaws of all three heads. The wings of the suit are also stubby and look terrible before Ghidorah went into “flight mode”. Other than that the suit looked fairly good, I even liked the “chicken feet” as many people called them. I thought they looked very dragon-like, as did the tails. I also thought that the eyes gave the impression of primal rage.
