My Comments
This movie was pretty good, except for some of the goofy looking Kong puppets. Gorosaurus was great in this film, my favorite part was the battle between him and Kong, but he should have won! Toho's first mecha, Mechani-Kong, was cool as well! Onto the synopsis!
Synopsis
On a routine mission in the Pacific Ocean, the UN Submarine Explorer encounters difficulties undersea and is forced to stop for repairs near Mondo Island. Captain Carl Nelson sees this as a great opportunity to explore the nearby island, so he, the submarine's nurse, Susan Watson and Lt. Commander Jiro Nomura leave to explore the island. There, they encounter a lone native who warns them to stay away because this is Kong's island. Suddenly, the mutated dinosaur Gorosaurus appears and attacks Nurse Watson, who lets out a loud scream which awakens King Kong, who comes to her rescue. Kong and Gorosaurus then enter into a fierce battle, in which Kong defeats Gorosaurus by breaking his jaw. Kong then turns his attention to SUsan, whom he takes a great liking to and it is soon discovered that he will do whatever she tells him.

Meanwhile, at the North Pole, a giant mechanical version of King Kong is seen. Soon it is revealed that the evil scientist Dr. Who has built this robot, using plans he had stolen from Captain Nelson, intending to use "Mechani-Kong" to dig up the highly radioactive Element X in order to sell the element to Madame X, a representative of an unnamed country. However, something goes wrong and Mechani-Kong's circuits fail as he tries to dig up the element. The, upon hearing reports that the real Kong actually exists, Dr. Who thinks up a new plan. Figuring King Kong can withstand the radiation, he decides to kidnap him and hypnotize him with Mechani-Kong and get him to dig up Element X. However, Kong manages to escape the hypnotic control and breaks free from Dr. Who, heading for Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Who sends Mechani-Kong after him and the two monsters eventually do battle in the city, on Tokyo Tower. After a lengthy battle, Mechani-Kong is disabled and plummets to the streets below, shattering into thousands of pieces. Then, the next morning, King Kong attacks Dr. Who's fleeing ship, killing all aboard, including the evil doctor.
