MechaGodzilla 1974-75
MechaGodzilla`74-75

Played by: Kazushige Mori

First appearing in 1974’s “Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla”, the original MechaGodzilla, in my opinion, looks like a very detailed robot put together with sheet metal. This was probably due to that era's image of robots. Looking sort of like the samurai warrior armor of old Japan, the metallic sheen of the “space titanium”, the glowing orange eyes, finger missile launchers, spikes kneecaps, smaller dorsal plates, vent-like nostrils, and hard angles of the suit looked great on film. Just as I said before, his "skin" looks like very detailed pieces of sheet metal screwed/bolted/welded together with cool spring-like elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles for joint-like movement. The suit featured in the sequel was the previous one refurbished, had a “2” added onto its arm under the “MG” letters, and was given the secondary robotic head that looked very nice. Overall a very interesting design that was portrayed quite effectively by suit actor Kazushige Mori in both “Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla” and “Terror of MechaGodzilla”.
